Square Enix has recently revealed that Final Fantasy 16 will be released for PC on September 17, 2024. The PC port is expected to be the ultimate version of Final Fantasy 16, as fans will have access to both DLCs already available for PS5 and will have more options to tweak the game’s graphics.
Final Fantasy 16 was originally released as a PS5 exclusive in 2023. A few months after the release, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 would eventually get a PC version. Now, it’s confirmed that the PC port will be released around a year after this original announcement.
Square Enix has just unveiled the new “Deliverance” trailer for Final Fantasy 16, which showcases a few action-packed scenes and confirms September 17 as the release date for the game’s PC version. As already revealed before, the PC port will come with the Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide DLC, which are already available for PS5 gamers. Pre-orders currently cost $50, and PC players who want to test the game can download a demo on Steam or the Epic Games Store. The demo will be the same as the PS5 version, showing the beginning of the game.
When will Final Fantasy 16 Be Released for PC?
- Final Fantasy 16 will be available on PC on September 17, 2024.
Even before the official release date was set in stone, it was already clear that the PC version of FF16 was going to come out soon. A few weeks ago, for example, an Nvidia driver update hinted at Final Fantasy 16, offering game-ready optimizations for it.
It’s also possible that Final Fantasy 16 fans may get even more surprises soon. Last week, Dion Lesage’s voice actor, Steward Clarke, hinted that Final Fantasy 16 would appear at Gamescom. As the game’s release date reveal happened before Gamescom officially started, it’s still possible that fans could get additional news about FF16 soon. However, it’s also likely that Clarke could have only been hyping the PC port’s release date.
Recently, some fans have theorized that Final Fantasy 16 could come to Xbox Series X/S. An Xbox port was not officially announced by Square Enix, but back in March, FF16’s producer Naoki Yoshida recently hinted that Final Fantasy 16 could go to other major platforms. In any case, fans of the franchise should pay close attention to Gamescom, which starts on August 20 with its Opening Night Live event, to be sure that they aren’t missing out on more information about Final Fantasy 16.
