At long last, Final Fantasy 16 has finally landed on PC, boasting improved graphics that only a PC can produce — which is enough of an upgrade alone, simply due to the game's already-stunning visuals. Now, fans can enjoy Final Fantasy 16's stellar boss fights in a way they never could, as well as experience the story of Clive Rosfield and his friends one more time. Final Fantasy 16's arrival on PC is also a great open door for non-PS5 owners to dive into its world and experience the first fully-fledged action RPG in the mainline Final Fantasy series.
Final Fantasy 16's PC release is enough of an accomplishment for it, but it also paves the way for another popular Final Fantasy game to receive its own PC port. Specifically, it would make sense for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to follow Final Fantasy 16 to PC within the next year or so.

Final Fantasy 16's PC Release Paves the Way for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Received an Enhanced PC Port Alongside the Game's DLC
The idea of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth being ported to PC is thoroughly backed up by the fact that Final Fantasy 7 Remake received its own PC version on December 16, 2021. What made Final Fantasy 7 Remake's PC launch so special, however, is that it was the original game's enhanced version, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which included the Yuffie-led DLC expansion EPISODE INTERmission.
The enhanced version of the game also featured improved visuals and a photo mode, making it more than worth it. Perhaps Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would be subject to the same enhancement and DLC treatment as its predecessor, should it also be ported to PC.
It Would Make Sense for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to Land on PC in Mid-2025
Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake received a PC port as well as now Final Fantasy 16, the likelihood of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth eventually making its way to PC is extremely high — the only question is when that might happen and what else, if anything, might arrive along with it. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was initially released on the PS4 on April 10, 2020, and received a PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade a little over a year and a half later.
Of course, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was also released just before the launch of the PS5, so the window between the PS4 and PC release might have been quite a bit smaller.
Final Fantasy 16 was initially released on the PS5 on June 22, 2023, and just received its PC port a little over a year later, that window likely being smaller due to Square Enix only needing to work with one PlayStation console. That bodes well for the timing of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's PC port, suggesting it could land on PC in mid-2025.
Basing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's PC launch strictly on the amount of time between Final Fantasy 16's PS5 and PC releases, which would see Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth landing on PC around July 2025. This is purely speculation, however, as there hasn't even been confirmation that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will make its way to PC.
It might be considered an insult if Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was never ported to PC, considering its predecessor and Final Fantasy 16 have now both been given the PC treatment. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's captivating visuals also make a strong case for a PC port, as modern computer hardware would beef up those visuals even more. If there are indeed plans for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to eventually be ported to PC, it won't be until at least mid-2025 before it arrives, and it could even be much later than that. In any case, the prospect of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is mouth-watering, to say the least.
