The third chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga will take player feedback about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's pacing into consideration, according to game director Naoki Hamaguchi. Although the finale of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy still has no official name as of this writing, the highly anticipated entry from Square Enix may have a more concise pace compared to FF7 Rebirth.
Compared to the compact nature of Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Midgar, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gave players an open-world adventure that took them to cities like Jeuno and Costa del Sol as part of a journey that culminated in the Forgotten Capital. Another of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's main features is the sheer number of quests for players to complete, including a multipart quest that rewards the Gilgamesh Summoning Materia. However, FF7 Rebirth's pacing throughout the middle chapters of the game received mixed responses from fans due to their length and placement in the game's story.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Final Part Will Be More Concise Than Rebirth
With player feedback about Final Fantasy 7 Remake's third part taken into consideration, the game director had some encouraging words for curious Final Fantasy fans. During an interview with Screen Rant at Brazil Game Show 2025, Hamaguchi said that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be more "concise" with how the pacing of the main story and side quests will be compared to Rebirth. Hamaguchi said that FF7 Remake's final part will be quite long, given that the stories of the first two games in the saga followed the first disc of the original Final Fantasy 7. Hamaguchi said that the developers must strike a balance between how much story content can be spread out to keep the story pace brisk and consistent.
Despite some of the feedback, Hamaguchi said he felt Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's pacing and side quest content was not any longer than necessary. As for what fans can expect, Hamaguchi remained confident that the ending of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga would be satisfying for both old and new fans. As of this writing, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has no official title, though the game's development is going smoothly.
Additionally, Square Enix already has an internal release date in mind for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, though details remain elusive. Given that the keyword for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3's development direction has also been decided, fans may not have to wait much longer for more news to arrive.
