The popular Queen’s Blood mini-game will return in the third and final Final Fantasy 7 Remake title, as confirmed by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi. Just like Final Fantasy 7 Remake before it, this year’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth expanded on the story and universe of the original 1997 PlayStation classic with tons of new sidequests and mini-games.

One hugely popular addition to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is Queen’s Blood, a virtual card game that Cloud can play with certain NPCs on his travels. Using various cards inspired by the creatures and Shinra forces encountered in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players are tasked with capturing spaces along three rows, with the winner boasting the highest score in at least two rows once the game ends. Certain Queen’s Blood cards have special abilities that can help the player to achieve this goal, resulting in many different strategies and useful card combinations.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Queen’s Blood mini-game has become a massive hit, and director Naoki Hamaguchi recently confirmed that it will be coming back better than ever in the next game. While speaking at the Otakon 2024 anime convention in Washington D.C. (As reported by VG247), Hamaguchi explained that his team is currently working on a “revamped or even better version” of Queen’s Blood for the next Final Fantasy 7 Remake game, and that he would be able to share more information about it in the near future.

Queen’s Blood Is Coming Back In The Next Final Fantasy 7 Game

Naoki Hamaguchi noted how popular Queen’s Blood has become since Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched to rave reviews and record-breaking sales back in February, with many fans even asking if Square Enix would ever produce a real-world version of the card game. Many of his fellow panel members at Otakon 2024 said that Queen’s Blood was their favorite Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth mini-game, a sentiment that is shared by countless gamers around the world.

There is still much about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s inevitable sequel that fans don’t know, particularly how it will expand upon the emotional conclusion of the previous title. There will likely be plenty of new mini-games to distract players from the heavy final chapter in Cloud’s updated saga, with Queen’s Blood now officially confirmed to be one of them. As Hamaguchi said during his recent appearance, more details about how Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will build upon Queen’s Blood’s already solid formula will be revealed soon.
