The Final Fantasy franchise will soon release new physical game bundles for fans to enjoy this holiday season, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7 Rebirth will be in a physical Twin Pack on PS5. Final Fantasy fans with a Nintendo Switch console are also in luck, as Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 Remastered will have a physical Switch twin-pack, and Final Fantasy 9 will be released on its own game card.
Each Final Fantasy game featured in these physical re-releases is also available digitally, or as separate physical releases in the case of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth. Square Enix's latest move also has curious timing, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will launch on the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S on January 22, 2026. The upcoming ports of FF7 Remake Intergrade will have new Streamlined Progression systems that offer players perks in battle, such as full resource gauges.

5 Final Fantasy Games Are Getting Physical Re-Releases
Although physical game sales on the PS5 have been on a downward trend, Square Enix is relaunching two of its most popular titles for gamers to collect. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7 Rebirth will be re-released physically on December 4. Pre-orders for this reissue of FF7 Remake Intergrade and FF7 Rebirth start at $59.99 on the Square Enix Store. Additionally, Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 Remastered will launch on a single Nintendo Switch game card on December 9. Final Fantasy 9 will also receive its own Switch game card release on December 9.
Pre-orders for Final Fantasy 9 by itself, along with the twin pack of Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, are also available on the Square Enix Store starting at $39.99 apiece. The physical Switch releases of Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, and Final Fantasy 9 will mark the first time they will receive such treatment in North America. Previously, physical game cards of FF7, FF8 Remastered, and FF9 were available in other territories. Additional boosters that were not part of the PS1 versions of these fan-favorite Final Fantasy games are also available for Switch players to use.
Final Fantasy 7, FF8 Remastered, and FF9 will also work on the Switch 2 via backward compatibility. Though the topic of preserving remakes and remasters of beloved games remains an ongoing topic, Square Enix's contribution is the latest in its ongoing effort to bring its main franchises to as many platforms as possible.
