Players of Fire Emblem Engage in Chapter 14 have gotten a lot of new units from the desert location of Solm. Players will now have access to Ike as well, and players can upgrade their bond with him.
Players will get new stuff in the safe haven floating island, including a weird little mini-game called the Wyvren ride. There will also be new battles to take part in, including the story battle with Hortensia at Solm's castle and an Emblem Ike Paralogue. This chapter is all about helping Alear's new Solm allies to defend their castle against the incoming armies.
Updated to the Somniel in Chapter 14 of Fire Emblem Engage
When players reenter Somniel after Chapter 13, they will be informed that there are new items in the items shop, that there is a new trial map, the Flea Market is open, and Wyvren rides are now also available. Here's a breakdown of all the new stuff.
- The most exciting new items in the item shop are the new Master Seals and Second Seals available.
- Fire Emblem Engage's Tempest Trials has a new desert map.
- The Flea market is now open; it's a bit like a second item shop for mostly giftable items to raise Support Levels with characters that Fire Emblem players might want to romance.
- The Wyvren Ride is a flying game where players have to shoot diamonds out of the sky while flying for points. These give players items like Bond Fragments, potions, and other common items. Players will want to bring guardian spirit Sommie with them, as it helps to shoot down some of the diamonds as well. It also rides around on the Wyvren's head, looking absolutely adorable.
The Paralogue of Chapter 14 in Fire Emblem Engage: The Radiant Hero
In order to unlock Max Bond level with the Emblem Ike, players will need to battle Ike in this Paralogue. Players will get nine units to take on Ike and his phantom army. There are only two archers, so most of the attackers will be melee characters. They are also mostly promoted units, so they will hit pretty hard. Players will want to prioritize bringing Tome users and some characters with chain attack, high speed, and high Crit. Players will want to take out Ike in a single hit when possible to avoid his defense boosts.
Ike is a powerful enemy. He has a hammer which is great against Armored; he is also a Fire Emblem axe wielder with an axe that increases his Resistance and a sword that boosts his defense and can attack at range 1 or range 2. If his HP is 75% or less, he gets +7 Def and Res. He has Wrath, which is a buff that gives additional Crit for every HP he has lost. Ike hits extremely hard and has a bunch of defense.
Thankfully, he has very low Resistance, so mages will be able to get in his armor fairly easily. But they will need to get out of range of his Great Aether which freeze him in place for one turn, giving him additionally Defense and Resistance, then he slams everyone around him with an AOE the next turn that heals him.
- When battle begins, the enemy units will close in on the group.
- Players will want an Armored unit to defend to the south since there aren't any mages to the south, and a mage to the east to take out those Fire Emblem Armored units.
- Keep an eye out for enemies to break down the breakable walls and come at Alear from different angles; all non-breakable walls are impassable, so flying units cannot pass over them.
- There are ranged healers on the enemy's side.
- Make sure everyone has healing items on them as well as ranged usable items like the Javelin.
- Some new units will spawn at turn 5; these new enemies don't give EXP.
- Turn 6 will activate Ike, and two new mounted units will spawn behind him.
Items can gain an Elthunder from one of the mage units as well as some gold from the enemies, so players will want to make sure to kill those extra units.
The Story Battle for Chapter 14 in Fire Emblem Engage
In this chapter, players will have to once again battle against Hortensia with Blyeth's Emblem Ring. In order to defeat her, players will need to get rid of several of Fire Emblem Engage's Four Hounds. Enemies have a lot of upgraded weapons and some Killer weapons. Look out for units with long bows, and keep in mind that there are four total boss units.
- Hortensia- Bad defense, good resist, has Byleth, has three health bars. A 50% chance to turn a missed hit into a hit. Can give her allies +5 Resist. She can also grant another action to every single ally within two spaces. After the player takes down one of her health bars, she will gain a new weapon and will spawn new mid-level units to help her out. The new weapon is a Sword of the Creator from Blyeth; it does physical damage with the unit's magical stat. It has a range of 1 or 2 and does bonus damage to Dragon Units.
- Mauvier - Royal Knight - He has a magical weapon and a physical weapon. Also has a healing staff. If he uses Wait, he gets +2 defense.
- Marni - She is a General with high defense. She only has Resistance of 5. She has a smash weapon that's very effective against Flying units. She will drop the Hurricane Axe, which players will want to pick up.
- Zephia - She has Thoron, the best version of the Thunder Tome. She has a high magic attack as well, which is pretty scary in this tactical RPG.
Players will get 12 units, and they will want to make sure to bring good bow units to help get rid of Hortensia. Ranged Fire Emblem magic units and long bows will also be helpful for picking off units across the moat's two spaces. The moat's spaces are not impassable, so flying enemy units can come over it and attack the players waiting on the other side. To the far left and the far right top of the map, there are treasure chests.
- Treasure Chest 1: Silver Spirit Art, a martial arts scroll. If holder starts combat, they attack twice. It also has some pretty high stats.
- Treasure Chest 2: Wyrmslayer. This sword has bonus damage against Dragon units.
- Treasure Chest 3: Boots. These permanently upgrade a unit's movement +1.
- Treasure Chest 4: Radiant Bow. This is a Light Magic bow with range 2.
Beginning at the end of turn 2, thieves will begin to spawn to try and nab the treasure from players before they can grab it. So make sure to get them before these units can get away with the loot. Turn 8 will also see enemy reinforcements spawn from the top right and top left, so be extra careful of these. Players will want to route the enemy in order to pick up these items from enemy units: Silver Sword, Steel Blade, and the Hurricane Axe.
Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
