Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes features two endings to each route, and this guide will explain how to get each route's true ending. The process requires players to make a slightly counterintuitive decision in the heat of battle during chapter 10, so it's easy to miss on a first playthrough.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a Hack and Slash action RPG developed by Omega Force and published by Nintendo. Set in the realm of Fodlan from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but in an alternate timeline, the game follows the new character Shez. A mercenary with a grudge against the legendary "Ashen Demon" for killing his old mercenary crew.
How to Unlock the True Ending in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
Sheathe Your Sword
During Chapter 10's main battle, players are offered the opportunity to finally take revenge on the Ashen Demon, in the form of an optional objective triggered by dialog from Arval.
In a rare case for a Warriors game, choosing not to complete this objective is necessary to unlock the true ending. Instead, continue following the main objectives of the mission and be ready for a mad dash.
Once the objective to defeat the commander of the enemy army becomes available and Byleth begins rushing to rejoin them, players should rush to the enemy commander and take them down as quickly as possible.
The exact enemy and method will differ depending on the route, so here's a quick breakdown of them, along with their weapons and weaknesses.
- Golden Wildfire: Fleche, who wields a sword and is weak to spears. Help Claude escape from Byleth without being seen to trigger this main mission.
- Azure Gleam: Randolph, who wields an axe and is weak to swords. Activate the strategy "Locate Ambushers" and avoid being spotted by any of the mercenaries that appear, then stop the mercenaries from reaching the allied base to trigger the main mission "Defeat Randolph." Rush over there and take Randolph out without engaging Byleth or Jeralt to win the day. (Note: Do NOT defeat Fleche on this mission)
- Scarlet Blaze: Alois and Rodrigue, who wields an axe and a lance respectively. This makes Alois weak to swords and Rodrigue weak to spears. Use the "Resonant Lightning" strategy as soon as it becomes available, help the engineers, and then ignore Byleth until the mission to defeat Alois and Rodrigue activates.
The Benefits of the True Ending
Doing the above allows the player to spare Byleth and Jeralt, recruiting them into their own army and making them playable.
It also unlocks an additional main mission that resolves the mystery surrounding Arval and allows players to unlock Arval with renown in New Game +.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is available for Nintendo Switch.
