Among the multitude of anime that are released every year, there are some that manage to stand out from the rest and leave a significant mark on audiences. Whether it be the premise, art style, animation or something else entirely. Fire Force is one of those hyped anime that offers all of this and more, with the David Production-helmed anime yielding some of the most action-packed moments in anime across its 2 adapted seasons so far.
Fire Force sounds like no other anime, looks like no other anime (or at least besides Soul Eater, the mangaka's other famous series) and generates hype like no other anime. After a nearly 5-year wait, Season 3 is now set to release in April 2025. Here’s what to know before it lights up the Spring Anime lineup.

Where Did Fire Force Season 2 End?
Fire Force Season 2 Leaves Off With New Revelations for Shinra and Friends
At the end of Season 2, we see how the threat of the White-Clads and the impact of the death of Captain Hague has left Shinra and Arthur in crisis. They feel that they need to become stronger, and look to expand their powers by seeking out an empowered form, “the Press of Death”. After almost exhausting all the oxygen in his body, Shinra finally achieves this state, becoming enveloped in blue flames and establishing another "Adolla Link". Here, he sees his Mother, Brother and witnesses the death of Captain Hague in this state. The season ends with the Fire Force teams preparing to challenge the Evangelist, while the Knights of Ashen Flame prepare for a siege on the Tokyo Empire.
This leaves a lot of questions open for Season 3:
- What is the true nature of the Evangelist?
- Who is the Golden Handed White-Clad that killed Hauge?
- What is the significance of these "Adolla Links"?
What Will Happen in Fire Force Season 3?
Fire Force Season 3 Will Show More of the Evangelist
The previously mentioned events of Season 2 are from the "Stigma Arc" in the manga. When Season 3 begins, we should see how Shinra and the other Fire Force allies face off against the leaders of the White-Clads in the continuation of this storyline. With Shinra and Arthur's newly improved powers, and the loss of Hague fresh in their minds, the conflicts in Season 3 of Fire Force should prove to be fierce. While the complete nature of Adolla Links are unknown, reaching this state, and interacting with this realm has enabled Shinra and others in the Fire Force universe to accomplish physics-defying feats of strength, speed and more. When the first episode arrives in April 2025, expect a fearsome start to what will be the final season of Fire Force.
Moving forward from the Stigma arc, if the anime precisely follows the events of the manga, then the next major arc should be “Obi’s Rescue”. As the title may suggest, the Fire Force members are faced with saving Captain Obi from jail, but as for the events that land him there...you'll just have to wait for the anime (or read the manga, of course). Season 2 of Fire Force ends right around Chapter 174 of the Manga, so if you just can't wait for the anime to release, then this is where you'll want to hop into the manga.
What Do We Know About the New Season of Fire Force?
This Final Season of Fire Force Promises to Go Out With a Blast
While the Fire Force project has released a PV for Season 3, not much new footage and information is given, although it is one heck of a recap of what the team has already done in previous seasons. What we can see from the trailer, though, is that the Evangelist, the looming figure that has captured the attention of Shinra up until this point, is still relevant, with the trailer suggesting that we will finally learn the backstory behind this imposing character. And not only the Evangelist, but the White Clads as well. With Hague's murderer on the loose, we will likely see the Fire Force Companies try to hunt down the gold-handed figure and bring them to justice.
For fans of Soul Eater, there will be another familiar figure that should stand out to you: the Moon. In the trailer we can see that Soul Eater and "Adolla" in Fire Force share the same unique moon, courtesy of both being written by the same mangaka (Atsushi Okhubo), and assumedly existing in the universe, if not just a clever easter egg. As to what significance this will have to the story, we'll have to keep watching as the season progresses.
Finally, the Fire Force team also revealed that the final season will be split into 2 cours. The first will air starting April 2025, with the second and final cour airing in January 2026. For fans hoping for a stellar adaptation to end the series, this should be a good sign, as it is more likely that they are taking their time to ensure that they can achieve the utmost quality for this final outing.
