In The First Descendant, research and crafting are essential to upgrading your characters, and one material you'll need to farm in large quantities is Hardener. This resource is a key ingredient in creating parts for Descendants, making it vital for progression in your playthrough. Fortunately, gathering hardeners is relatively easy compared to other resources, and it doesn't require defeating Vulguses or engaging in combat.
To farm Hardeners, you'll need to find various Munition and Resource boxes across the Vesper region. But finding these boxes and looting them can be inefficient and time-consuming. That's why, to make your grind easier, here's a complete guide on how to farm Hardeners in The First Descendant.
The First Descendant: How To Farm Anode Ion Particles
Anode Ion Particles are a very important resource in Nexon's The First Descendant. These tips will help players farm the research material.
How To Farm Hardeners In The First Descendant
Hardener is exclusive to the Vesper region, one of the first areas you’ll unlock in your playthrough, after beating the Executioner. You won’t need to fight waves of Vulguses. Instead, keep your eyes peeled for munitions and resource boxes scattered throughout the area. These are your primary sources for Hardeners, and opening them has a high chance of dropping them.
If you’re having difficulty spotting them, using your Ecive scanner will highlight all nearby boxes and make the process much quicker. All you need to do is run around Vesper, loot these boxes, and gather as much Hardener as possible. A few quick runs through the region should net you more than enough to meet your crafting needs.
Timberfall and The Ruins have a greater number of these boxes because of having multiple battlefield missions. Be sure to prioritize searching those areas first.
What Is A Hardener In The First Descendant?
Hardeners are a crucial material used for Descendant research. Crafting new components for your characters will require tons of Hardeners, but thankfully, each resource box can provide nearly 100 units of Hardener, meaning you can restock quickly. Alongside Descendant crafting, it’s also used in various other recipes, but none as demanding as when researching parts for characters.
Here’s a look at how much Hardener you’ll need for a few specific characters in The First Descendant:
