How to Farm Reputation XP in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn

There are multiple ways to get Reputation fast in Flintlock. Most of your XP will come through all forms of combat, with a multiplier increasing your overall XP gain based on several skill-based factors. There are two key factors you want to keep in mind, not only while farming, but during all combat in Flintlock:

  • Do not get hit – getting hit clears all gained Reputation and multipliers - avoid it at all costs.
  • Know when to store your XPFlintlock allows you to halt your multiplier progress, and store your current Reputation XP gains. This does not stop it from being lost when you die, but it does remove the chance of losing any of it due to being hit. As you play, you'll begin to discover which enemy types are more likely to hit you, which foes you struggle with, etc. As you learn those patterns, you'll know when to store your Reputation, and when to continue fighting.

With these key factors in mind, you can set out to begin farming Reputation XP. The primary means of farming XP will be through combat, so that is where we will start.

Farming Reputation Through Combat:

When it comes to getting Reputation fast in Flintlock, combat is by far the best method. However, not just any combat will do. As mentioned above, you want to avoid getting hit at all costs, so your first goal should be finding a loop that contains several enemies you can easily beat. If you are new to the game, you may want to take the time to learn the Parry mechanic, as there are very few loops that will not contain an Armored Enemy with a shield. When farming Reputation through combat, remember these important tips:

  • Variety is Key: Make sure to mix up your attacks during combat. Pay attention to the multiplier section in the HUD. It will tell you exactly how your current multiplier is being calculated, and you'll notice it gets higher as you use different techniques. Use every tool at your disposal to keep your multiplier as high as possible.
  • Store Your Reputation: Don't forget to use left on the D-Pad to store your reputation, especially if you know you are approaching a difficult foe. This will end your multiplier, but it is better than being hit and losing everything.
  • Use Occupied Areas: While your first instinct may be to clear an occupied Hamlet and collect the upgrade to your Health Flask, the first few Hamlets serve as perfect loops for farming Reputation, especially if all you need is enough Reputation to complete the first few skills and equipment upgrades. Kill all the low-level foes, then exit and rest before taking on the Leader.

Make sure to utilize Flintlock's Favors mechanic before farming Reputation XP. These small crystal objects can be found around each region, and offer a temporary boost to Reputation gains. Resting removes their effect.

Farming Reputation through Exploration:

While combat is the best method of getting Reputation fast in Flintlock, it is not the only method . Players can gain a considerable amount of XP through exploration, not only through completing main and side quests, but also through finding special items in the world. During the early game, Nor can find several Conscript's Buttons hidden throughout the world. Each button can be redeemed to earn 150 Reputation. These helpful items are almost always found on dead bodies, usually skeletonized remains. To redeem them, simply enter the inventory section of the menu, go to Nor's backpack, and hover over them in the inventory. You'll see a prompt at the bottom of the menu that gives you the option of trading in one or all of your buttons.

Completing certain tasks within the world will also reward Nor with Reputation. For example, anytime she uses a Breaching Barrel to clear a path, she'll receive 300 Reputation. Again, creating repeatable combat loops is currently the best method of getting Reputation XP fast in Flintlock , but exploration will play a vital role as well.

Make sure to pay attention to which skills you use, and which skill you don't. If you find that certain unlocked skills don't work with your playstyle, or are simply unnecessary, you can get most of the Reputation you spent back very easily. This is a great way to get extra Reputation XP when needed.
