While Hollow Knight: Silksong is a game with unforgivable mechanics and tough-as-nails difficulty, it provides players with various tools to give them a fighting chance. 
Flintslate is one of these tools that players can get pretty early on in the game, which amps up Hornet's attack power and burns enemies on every hit. This is a great offensive tool for players who want to get the upper hand in combat, and this guide will help you acquire it with ease.

How to Get Flintslate in Silksong (Location)
Players can get the Flintslate tool behind one of the locked doors in the Deep Docks area in Silksong. This locked door does not need players to activate a switch or a mechanism, but instead requires a Simple Key.
Players can purchase a Simple Key from Pebb the Merchant in the Bone Marrow area. It costs 500 Rosary Beads, which players can farm early on in Silksong without any issues. Once you have enough Rosary Beads, purchase the simple key from Pebb and head to the Deep Docks area.

Now, head to the location in the Deep Docks marked above on the map. It's a large cavern with a locked door on the bottom-right that you can use a Simple Key to open up. This will let you gain access to a chamber that's filled with enemies, so you should go in prepared to fight.
After entering through the locked door, head inside the chamber and go through the pathway till you reach the first area with chained platforms. There will be alot of enemies here that you can either engage or run past. Regardless of what you do, keep heading right and enter the next area.
The next chamber is near identical to the previous one. Make your way to the chained platforms section, and slowly climb your way to the top. There will be flying enemies here that you'll need to take down in order to make the ascent easier.
After you reach the top, jump up and enter the top-left path of the area.
Keep following this path until you spot an item on a table. This is how players can get the Flintslate tool in Silksong. Simply put it on a bench to start using it. Players will get three charges for the Flintslate, and they can activate it to imbue Hornet's attacks with fire damage.
It also players a cool animation when you activate it, but it's not all for show. Hitting enemies with the needle while Flintslate is activated will inflict them with burn damage. However, the duration is rather brief, so make sure to only activate it before an opening to get the most use out of your Flintslate charges in Silksong.
