Fortnite’s Build Mode allows players to create and edit various structures using resources like wood and stone. These structures serve different purposes, from creating passages and gaining higher ground to blocking bullets. What a player builds will vary depending on the goal they want to accomplish and the resources they have at hand. All in all, knowing all the structures players can build and how to use them is crucial to securing victory royale.

4 Walls

Blocks Incoming Fire and Line of Sight

Walls are the simplest structure to build in Fortnite’s Battle Royale. They’re the default build option players get when they press the build button on their controls. Walls are an excellent way for players to protect themselves from incoming fire from nearby enemies. They can also block off the enemy’s line of sight, allowing players to escape their encounter. When building walls, always drop four walls to block off enemies from all sides and use this time to heal, reload, and strategize.

Players can build walls using wood, brick, and metal. Note that wooden walls take a short time to make but are the quickest to destroy due to their low durability. Brick and metal walls offer more durability but take longer to build, exposing players to incoming bullets. Since walls provide limited protection, players should be ready to evade fire once enemies break the shield.

Players should build ramps in open areas where they’re exposed and vulnerable to nearby enemies. This way, they can easily spot opponents evading the circle and take them out. Players can also build ramps to access loot in tall buildings and houses. For instance, if there’s loot on the second floor of a building, instead of running and taking the stairs, players can build a ramp to access a window on the second floor. This saves time and effort, ensuring players get in and out of Fortnite hot spots.

When building 90s in Fortnite, players must build floors to reinforce the structure and create a solid ground to land on. The 90s is a complex building technique, especially for beginner players, but they’re easy to pull off with constant practice in Fortnite build modes. It’s advisable to build floors with resources like brick and metal to create strong and durable foundations that offer protection for longer. Players can collect these resources on the map using their rare and epic pickaxes.

1 Cones

Building cones in Fortnite’s Battle Royale allows players to block enemies, preventing them from ramping up and gaining high ground. If two players ramp towards each other at the same height, the player who builds a cone will prevent the other from ramping above.
