With Fortnite OG, the original map and loot pool have returned. Yet, that’s not the only thing fans can expect from this nostalgic season of Fortnite. The pesky and mysterious gnomes have returned after all these years, and players can find them to get 20,000 XP per gnome. With 10 gnomes in Fortnite’s OG season, players can get 200,000 XP, which is the equivalent of 2.5 levels in the Battle Pass.
Fortnite OG: All Returning Items and Weapons
Fortnite OG is bringing back tons of classic Battle Royale items - here's what to expect this season.
The gnomes have had a long-standing history with Fortnite, and they have often been involved in some pesky dealings whilst 100 players battle it out for the Victory Royale. These gnomes can be found in specific areas, but once players interact with them, the gnome will disappear for good, meaning the XP is one-time only.
All Hidden Gnome Locations
In the image above, players will be able to find the general area of each of the ten gnomes. The gnomes can be fairly simple to find, thanks to the fact that Fortnite has implemented a mechanic in which a “!” symbol will appear when players are near, which will lead their visual screen and their map to the exact location of the gnome. Remember, each gnome in Fortnite OG gives players 20,000 XP, and there are 10 gnomes in total. For those players that need a more exact location, they can find each of the ten gnomes below:
Gnome #1
Heading to Junk Junction, players are going to want to continue North to find a giant llama structure made of metal materials. The gnome they seek is just sitting here with a pile of bricks.
Gnome #2
Entering Pleasant Park, players are going to want to head South of the soccer pitch to find this gnome, who will be sitting at a campfire along with a teddy bear friend and a cooler.
Gnome #3
Between Tilted Towers and Greasy Grove, players will find a mountain with three trees and a giant rock. Sitting in a chair right beside this giant rock, players will find a gnome with three little teddy bears watching it.
Gnome #4
Located at Shifty Shafts, this gnome can be found in the lower levels of the mines, and players will need to use their Pickaxe/Harvesting Tool to destroy the wooden wall and find a gnome playing a game of cards with some teddy bears.
Gnome #5
Just to the East of Shfity Shafts, players are going to want to climb up the mountain closest to the river’s bend. On this mountain, players will find a discarded Battle Bus, with a gnome who has landed head-first into the dirt. Clearly, this gnome didn’t deploy their glider.
Gnome #6
Heading to Dusty Divot, players only need to keep to the West of this massive crater to find a small puddle of water, in which a gnome will be sunbathing alongside a teddy bear friend.
Gnome #7
If players venture to Risky Reels, they can find two camper vans in the North area of this POI. Behind these vans, a gnome is sitting, waiting for both collected and their dinner date.
Gnome #8
Within the center of Wailing Woods, players can locate a maze. To the left of this hedge maze, a Gnome will be trapped within a metal cage. Simply destroy the cage to free the gnome and collect it for that sweet XP.
Gnome #9
Lonely Lodge has the gnome players seek, and it can be found chilling in the North area just by a small body of water. The gnome is breaking some rules here, as it clearly states that no fishing is permitted, yet here he sits with a fishing rod in hand. Those pesky gnomes…
Gnome #10
The final gnome location is located just to the East of Paradise Palms, right beside the cliff. The gnome is seen mourning at two graves, with one of them covered in flowers. If players want their XP, they’re going to have to interrupt this grieving and take the gnome.
What's The Deal With Gnomes In Fortnite?
Fortnite's earliest seasons way back in Chapter One loved to tell stories through the map. Every week, the map would often feature subtle changes, mostly with gnomes, which would either move around upon an update or find themselves in strange situations showcasing personalities outside of their movement.
Gnomes have always played a part in Fortnite's OG map, and many quests and objectives would relate to gnomes, especially when it came to XP. Whilst they may appear as ordinary garden gnomes, there is more to meet the eye. Fortnite OG is set to last till December 2, with plenty of changes coming from Chapter 1, Season 5, all the way through Chapter 1, Season 10, so if more gnomes show up, players can find the related quests here.
