Knowing the weapon rarities available in the game is the first step to understanding how to get a Victory Royale. This guide will tell players everything they need to know about this subject so that they can find the best loot on the island from the get-go.

Weapon Rarity Rankings

While some weapons and items will spawn in the same locations each game, most of the loot available on the island spawns completely at random, so there's no way to tell if you'll find high rarity weapons before you open a container.

There are seven weapon rarities in Fortnite. At first glance, players can tell them apart by looking at their color. For example, if the weapon is emitting a purple hue, then it's an Epic rarity weapon. Once players pick it up, its background will also appear purple in this inventory. This UI feature makes it easier for gamers to differentiate weapon rarities, but what truly sets them apart is their stats.

A higher rarity weapon will deal more damage against enemies and structures and have a decreased reloading time. The higher the rarity, the better the weapon, and the more difference it'll make. While a Common Striker AR deals 186.3 DPS and the Uncommon variant deals 194.4 DPS, its highest rarity, the Legendary variant, deals 226.8 DPS.
