A Fortnite dataminer has revealed that a crossover event with Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming next season. This comes after Fortnite's current crossover event, which ends soon on February 27.
Fortnite's current crossover event with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles allows users to unlock various items inspired by the popular franchise. For free, fans can earn a backbling, glider, and wrap as well as emotes and tier skips. Users can purchase the TMNT event's premium reward track to unlock skins and more Ninja Turtle-inspired items. Fortnite's future crossover with Avatar will likely use a similar format.
Best Avatar: The Last Airbender Games, Ranked
Out of the many Avatar: The Last Airbender games that have been released over the years, a few have proven to be much more enjoyable than others.
Fortnite dataminer iFireMonkey revealed that sometime during Fortnite's next season, which begins on March 8, an event themed around Avatar: The Last Airbender will be introduced. During the event, users will instantly unlock the AANG Fortnite Style and AANG LEGO Style and can also unlock the Appa Glider after collecting all 6 "Books" by completing quests. It appears that the Appa Glider will be the final item unlocked in the event's free reward track, similar to the TMNT event's Turtle Blimp Glider. The datamined info also revealed that the event will feature a premium reward track, which will likely include additional Avatar-themed cosmetics such as skins, backblings, and more. Furthermore, the datamined info stated that the event will conclude on May 3, although iFireMonkey emphasized that this could simply be a placeholder.
Fortnite's Crossover Event With Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Coming during Chapter 5 Season 2, which begins on March 8
- Users can unlock the AANG Fortnite Style, Appa Glider, and more
- Leaks say that the event will end on May 3, but this is not confirmed
The event will possibly introduce Avatar-themed weapons or items to Fortnite as well, similar to the TMNT event's Mythic Fortnite weapons. The Avatar universe would have plenty of suitable candidates for this, so it seems unlikely that Fortnite would skip this aspect. However, this is only speculation at this point.
The future event will come after Netflix's new live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which debuted last week. Although nearly all fans consider the original show to still be the better version, Netflix's take on the popular story has satisfied a healthy proportion of viewers, with a 75% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.
Other developments regarding future Fortnite additions include a major update possibly coming to LEGO Fortnite soon. Dataminers claim that the update will allow players to build their own custom LEGO worlds using existing LEGO pieces as well as custom, imported ones, and other datamined info indicates that users will be able to monetize these worlds. The still unconfirmed update will also add a wide variety of new LEGO sets.
