Summary

  • Castlevania characters like Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Alucard would be great candidates for a Fortnite crossover.
  • Castlevania: Nocturne characters Richter, Maria, and Annette, as well as Olrox, could also make an impact in Fortnite.
  • Dracula and Simon Belmont, iconic characters from Castlevania, would bring star power to Fortnite and be hard to overlook for a crossover.

If Fortnite has a crossover with Castlevania, then there are a few obvious options for what could come from such a collaboration. When it comes to a series as long-lived as Castlevania, then there are a lot of possibilities for what could come to Fortnite through such a crossover. With so many possible options, some candidates could make fans happy from all across the franchise. However, when it comes to which choices could make the most impact, a few characters stick out more than most, to the point that a collaboration may not feel complete without them.

The recent collaboration between Metal Gear and Fortnite was the latest instance of characters from a major series making their way to Fortnite. Since Snake was one of Konami's most famous names, to the point of crossing over into Super Smash Bros., Snake feels like a character who was bound to get into Fortnite sooner or later. After all, the game has become something of a gathering place for pop culture icons. With Metal Gear adding Snake and Raiden, it's possible that other Konami properties could cross over as well. Outside of Metal Gear, the biggest crossover that Konami could provide is likely Castlevania.

Fortnite Could Take a Few Notable Characters from Castlevania

Castlevania Alucard Sypha and Trevor Belmont

While fans are still holding out hope for another Castlevania game after a decade, the franchise has found new life in its animated incarnations. The Castlevania series that came to Netflix in 2017 told a new story and even managed the feat of making Dracula sympathetic. The trio of protagonists for the series were catapulted to prominence through the show's popularity. As a result, three of Castlevania's best candidates for a Fortnite crossover may be:

  • Trevor Belmont, a rough but good-hearted vampire hunter
  • Sypha Belnades, a kindly, brilliant woman of incredible magical talents
  • Alucard, the heroic son of Dracula and Lisa.

The 2017 Netflix series wasn't the only notable animated incarnation of one of the most iconic Metroidvania series. Castlevania: Nocturne came out less than a year ago, and while it only has one season, it's the latest that fans have seen of the Castlevania universe. For that reason, Fortnite's developers could see it as a strong candidate for characters to bring into the series. Protagonists Richter, Maria, and Annette are obvious picks for similar reasons to the first Castlevania series' trio. At the same time, the vampire Olrox could also be a contender, being an honorable creature of the night who brings something interesting to the series.

Alucard's appearance in the season finale of Castlevania: Nocturne, as well as his impressive performance in said episode, further strengthens his stock for a crossover appearance in addition to his deeds in the first Castlevania series.

Of course, Castlevania has a few crossover picks that should be more obvious than any other. Castlevania's memorable antagonist Dracula is fiction's most memorable vampire, and he would be a perfect character to bring some star power to Fortnite. Likewise, Simon Belmont was the original hero of the series and has had several games to prove his worth. It helps that both characters made it into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable character and boss, respectively, increasing their profile. As far as Castlevania's prospects for a Fortnite crossover, it would be hard to overlook the most old-school characters in the series.

Crossovers are one of Fortnite's biggest draws, and more are certain to follow in the future. Although Castlevania isn't among the bigger rumored crossovers for Fortnite, it's still a big enough name to be considered. While it has mostly subsisted through crossovers with other games like Super Smash Bros. And Dead Cells, as well as its TV shows in recent years, it's still an iconic IP. Not to mention, it would be far from the most obscure property to appear in Fortnite. If Castlevania does cross over with Fortnite, fans may have an idea of who to expect to see.
