What Are Boons In Fortnite & How Do They Work?
Boons are a unique gameplay item that first appeared in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 and have now returned for Chapter 6 Season 3. When discovered and looted, Boons grant players powerful, one-of-a-kind perks and are stored in a special, dedicated inventory slot.
In Chapter 6, Season 3, players can hold all available Boons at once, offering a major advantage if they manage to acquire each one. However, unlike traditional loot, Boons cannot be dropped, shared, or picked up by eliminated players. Once acquired, a Boon is permanently tied to the player, even surviving by reboot in Duos or Squads.
At any given time, players can check their available Boons via their inventory to see what they do. Though Boons in Chapter 6 Season 3 function similarly to those from past seasons, the difference this time around is that players can also unlock a secondary ability for each Boon upon reaching Hero Rank S.

There are a total of four Boons currently in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, each boasting its own unique abilities. Boons can also be obtained by defeating Scout Spires, which are marked on the map for players to locate. Taking them on is relatively straightforward, though players should focus on targeting the face to deal critical damage and be sure to avoid their ranged attack.
