Fortnite: How to Collect Oathbound Items Easily

Each time there's a new Fortnite season, there's a different theme with weapons and special items related to it. This time around, for Chapter 4 Season 1, there are Oathbound quests to complete, Oathbound chests to open, and Oathbound items to collect.

As part of Fortnite's Week Nine weekly quests, for the Knights of the Realm questline, players will have to collect a total of 135 Oathbound items throughout a five-stage challenge. This guide will explain exactly what gamers need to collect and where to collect it.

What Are Oathbound Items?

There are four Oathbound items in Fortnite at the moment: the Shockwave Hammer, the Ex-Caliber Rifle, the Guardian Shield, and the Falcon Scout. At the start of the season, only the first two could be found on the battle royale map, but as more game updates were released, more Oathbound items were added.

How To Find Oathbound Items Easily

Oathbound items are quite powerful, but they can be tough to find; thankfully, there are ways to facilitate this process and progress through the stages of the quest much faster. Although 135 Oathbound items might seem like a lot at first, Fortnite weekly quests are now available all season long and won't expire after a week, so there is still plenty of time to finish this mission.

Oathbound Chests

The Oathbound chest is a new type of chest that can now be found in Fortnite. Oathbound chests can only be found in the parts of the map that have been covered with yellow grass. The Royal Ruin landmark and the Citadel POI are the best locations to search when trying to open Oathbound chests - over four of these chests can spawn in both of these locations.

NPCs

Players that have a lot of gold bars in their inventory can complete this quest much, much faster as they can simply buy their way through it as well. There are three NPCs on the Fortnite map that will give the player an Oathbound item in exchange for gold bars. Here is where to find them.

The Ageless Champion NPC at the Citadel drops two Oathbound items, a mythical Ex-Caliber Rifle, and a Shockwave Hammer, but he's a hostile character that must be defeated for his items to drop.

To get through this quest quickly, players must combine both of these methods together; they should visit as many locations in the yellow parts of the map and talk to these NPCs as they try to find Oathbound chests.
