Summary
- A small Fortnite patch is expected to be released tomorrow, September 24, at 9 AM ET.
- This update will include the files for Ranked Reload, the Rubius Icon Series cosmetics, and a free Ranked skin.
- Starting September 24, fans will finally be able to play Fortnite Reload in Ranked mode.
A new Fortnite patch is expected to be released on September 24, and despite its smaller size, the update will introduce some unique content for fans to enjoy. Fortnite tends to drop major updates every other Tuesday, with downtime usually starting at 4 AM ET. Matchmaking is disabled 30 minutes before this to avoid players getting kicked out of an ongoing match, and servers only come up an hour or so after the patch is available for download.
The last Fortnite update was released on September 17. Patch v31.20 was a major update, adding the I Am Iron Man Quests, Tony Stark weapons, and the Day of Doom LTM. On top of this, LEGO Fortnite players received the Lost Isles update, which brought the long-awaited Klombo to the game as well as new recipes, ingredients, and materials. After this, gamers were expecting the next round of new Fortnite content to be coming on October 1 with the release of v31.30.
Fortnite Leak Suggests Annual Fortnitemares 2024 Start Date
October means the annual Fortnitemares is coming, and gamers can start picking out their best spooky skins as the start date may have been leaked.
Epic Games has confirmed that starting September 24, fans will finally be able to play Fortnite Reload in Ranked mode. On top of this, leaker ShiinaBR claims that a content update will drop tomorrow, including the files for Ranked Reload, the Rubius Icon Series cosmetics, and a free Ranked skin. This will likely be a small content patch that will require a quick update to the game rather than a larger patch with several hours of downtime. Regardless, Ranked Reload should release at the same time that Daily Quests refresh in Fortnite, so gamers can expect it to become available at 9 AM ET.
Expected Fortnite Update Release Time (September 24, 2024)
- Tuesday, September 24, 9 AM ET
The free Ranked skin had already been leaked and should work like previous free skins included in the popular title, such as the Desdemona skin. In this case, players could unlock Desdemon for free in Fortnite if they gained 50 account levels before the offer expired.
It's unlikely that the in-game shop will change once the update drops, meaning that Rubius will likely be made available during an Item Shop refresh sometime during the upcoming week. Leakers have already revealed that the Rubius skin will be obtainable for 1,500 V-Bucks and the Flamitas de Kevin will be sold for 500 V-Bucks. Additionally, the ASMR Keys emote will set players back 300 V-Bucks, while the Wilson back bling and pickaxe bundle will be 1,000 V-Bucks. Alternatively, fans can purchase the entire Rubius bundle for 2,400 V-Bucks. Many fans have been waiting to learn more about the Wilson back bling, with players eager to carry the orange cat on their back as they traverse the game world. For many, it has been disheartening to learn that the cosmetic won't be sold separately.
