As the beloved battle royale nears the end of its ongoing Chapter 6, Epic Games sent the season out on a high note with one of its biggest events yet. This year's Fortnitemares saw a plethora of new content added to the game for the Halloween season, with Fortnite receiving Scooby-Doo, Poppy's Playtime, and Doja Cat skins among others. Now, one holiday crossover is making an early comeback.
Fortnite made waves with its Christmas event last year, adding beloved musician Mariah Carey to the game as part of its holiday festivities. The Mariah Carey skins featured two different outfits for the singer, receiving a Christmas-themed "Santa Suit" skin based on "All I Want for Christmas is You." The iconic Christmas song was also added to Fortnite Festival as a Jam Track during the 2024 Christmas event, featured in the game's main rotation for the week surrounding Christmas. Mariah Carey's skin is now reportedly coming back to the Item Shop early.
Fortnite Announces Long-Awaited Customization Feature
After months of speculation, Fortnite has officially confirmed that a long-awaited customization feature is coming next season.
An update shared by prominent Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR is hinting at the early return of Fortnite's Mariah Carey skin. ShiinaBR reveals within a recent Tweet that Fortnite's Mariah Carey skin will reportedly return to the in-game shop tomorrow, just under four months after its last appearance. The skin's return notably comes considerably before Fortnite's annual winter event, with the musician's skin only appearing for short stretches in April and July since its December 2024 debut. Mariah Carey's return to the item shop will likely feature both her original skin and the Santa Suit skin.
Fortnite Is Bringing Back the Mariah Carey Skin
Mariah Carey's return to Fortnite comes as the battle royale is gearing up to welcome the launch of its newest mini-season. The conclusion of Chapter 6 will welcome a new mini-season based on beloved animated series The Simpsons, adding skins based on Homer, Marge, Bart, and more. Leaks have also hinted at some special weapons coming as part of the Simpsons crossover, with Fortnite adding Moe's five-gun shotgun from a Season 9 episode. Fortnite even kicked off some early teasers for the crossover, with Bart's treehouse featured in-game as a special landmark.
Fortnite looks to have lots of exciting crossovers on the way beyond The Simpsons and Mariah Carey's return. Fortnite is heavily rumored to be adding a crossover with Silent Hill in the near future, though neither Epic Games nor Konami have confirmed the collaboration. Epic Games has also already revealed an upcoming partnership with Resident Evil Requiem, with fans receiving a free skin of protagonist Grace Ashcroft after Requiem's release for pre-purchasing the game on the Epic Games Store. Fortnite fans should have plenty to look forward to as Epic Games puts a bow on Chapter 6.
