New skins for Marvel superheroes Deadpool and Wolverine have come to online free-to-play game platform Fortnite as paid content, and they refect the characters' appearance in the comic books. The skins for both heroes are being introduced as part of Fortnite's Chapter 5, Season 3 content.
The two new skins arrive right alongside the nationwide U.S. Theatrical release of the Deadpool & Wolverine team-up movie, which came out on July 26. With Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman once again stepping into the titular roles they've played multiple times before, the new film has reinvigorated the Marvel Cinematic Universe fan base, with early Rotten Tomatoes audience scores giving it a 97 percent approval rating.
As revealed by the official Fortnite Twitter account, each of the new skins bears a parenthetical (Pen & Ink) in its name, reflecting the characters' appearance as classic hand-drawn Marvel superheroes from the comics. Both skins are usable in Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. This isn't the first time that either hero has been featured in Fortnite, as Deadpool's first appearance came in 2020 and the first of Wolverine's four Fortnite skins was released just four months later. Prior to the Pen & Ink stylings, the most recent Wolverine skin in Fortnite came less than a month ago, with the Weapon X skin being introduced on July 2.
New Deadpool and Wolverine Skins Available in Fortnite
In order to get the new Deadpool skin in Fortnite, players will have to purchase it from the Deadpool & Wolverine set for 2,000 V-Bucks. For the merc with a mouth, this also includes a Deadpool's Katanas pickaxe, a Wrap-Pool wrap weapon, a "What?! No Way!" Emote, and a Headpool back bling. Deadpool's new look also includes some cosmetic variations that players can play around with. One option that players who unlock Deadpool have is a partial removal of his mask, which will still cover his eyes but will reveal his nose, mouth, and chin. The other cosmetic variation allows players to humorously stick an arrow through Deadpool's head.
As for getting the new Wolverine skin in Fortnite, it can be picked up for the same amount as the Deadpool (Pen & Ink) skin and all its extras. While it's not as customizable as Deadpool's new skin, Wolverine's version also comes with a maskless variant skin that can be used in LEGO Fortnite. As for extras, this skin comes with a Wolverine's Claws pickaxe, a Classic Yellow & Blue Wrap, and the Snikt-ing Go Time emote, as well as a humorous Wade's Prank back bling that tapes different drawings of Deadpool on Wolverine's back. Players wanting to pick up both sets of skins and extras can bundle their purchase for and save 400 V-bucks.
