A popular feature said to be coming to Fortnite has reportedly been hit with yet another delay, with the release date for custom weapons in UEFN being pushed back even further. The massively popular battle royale from Epic Games offers no shortage of things to do, both with a variety of different game modes and multiple spinoffs. Fortnite has continually introduiced new spins on its classic gameplay, including game modes like Blitz Royale and Ballistic, alongside full spinoff games like LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing. However, one particular game mode has been a fan-favorite since its debut.

"Fortnite Creative" has stood as one of the game's most popular agame modes since its inception in 2018. Creative, as the name would imply, puts Fortnite's tools in the hands of the players, allowing players to craft their own unique game modes and mini-games within the foundation set by the battle royale. The introduction of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite in 2023 took the game's creative liberties to another level, allowing creators on PC to import custom content and assets for their Fortnite creations. Now, fans will be waiting a bit longer for one highly-requested feature.

As reported by VideoGamer, Fortnite is once again pushing back the release of a long-awaited feature coming to the UEFN. A post by prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX reveals that the addition of custom weapons to the UEFN has seen its release date pushed back to sometime in early 2026. The post also confirmed a few more delays associated with Fortnite's custom game modes, with both custom items and the new physics engine being moved to an unspecified date in late 2025. Epic Games has not yet made an official statement about the delays.

Fortnite Delaying Custom Weapons for UEFN Again

The newest delay for the UEFN's custom weapons is far from the first time the popular feature has been pushed back by Epic Games. Custom weapons were originally slated to launch on Fortnite's Unreal Editor sometime in late 2024, before being pushed back to a launch window sometime during 2025. The latest delay saw significant negative reception from fans waiting for custom weapons to be added, with many suggesting that the feature might never be fully implemented.

The disappointing news for Fortnite's creative game mode comes as the launch of Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 4 brought plenty of new content to the game. Epic Games introduced multiple new weapons and vehicles as part of the Season 4 update, including the Precision Air Strike and Hammerhead Choppa among others. Fortnite has also debuted several crossovers during the early parts of the season, most recently adding skins based on One Punch Man. Fans of Fortnite's Creative mode can only hope that custom weapons won't see any further delays.
