Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 has players in for a wild ride, taking them into a superhero-themed season with some of the biggest variety of content in the chapter yet. In this season, players can explore locations like the Supernova Academy, increase their Hero Rank to unlock Academy Tech Labs, and wield some devastatingly powerful hero items.
That's not all, however, as players can also use a wide range of Exotic Unstable Weapons. While all of these Exotics have a chance of dropping from Overlord Spires, another surefire way to get them is by completing the Expertise Quests, which also yield a solid amount of XP. Here’s how to complete the Expertise Quests in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, and what rewards they offer.
Updated by Nathan Round on July 9, 2025: The Unstable Thunderclap DMR is now available in Fortnite, and while it can be looted from Overlord Spires, players can also get it as part of its own Expertise Quests. Unstable Yoink Shotgun Expertise Quests
The Unstable Yoink Shotgun Expertise Quests are the first major questline that players can complete. Progressing through these quests will unlock the Unstable Yoink Shotgun for purchase from Hope, as well as the ability to buy an Epic Sentinel Pump Shotgun from her, along with discounts on both items.
Hope can be found in the building on the west side of Supernova Academy, and players can access her shop once they complete the first quest by selecting the Shotgun Expertise dialogue option. Here is a rundown of all the Unstable Yoink Shotgun Expertise Quests, and what they offer:

Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol Expertise Quests
The Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol Expertise Quests are the second set of Expertise Quests that players can complete. By progressing through these quests, players can unlock sales on the Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol and Epic Hyper Burst Pistol sold by Vengeance Jones over at the Supernova Academy, within the same building where Hope can be found.
Players can access Vengeance Jones' Expertise Sales by selecting the Pistol Expertise dialogue option when talking to him. Here is a rundown of each quest:

As of the time of writing, any weapon damage currently counts toward the “deal damage to airborne players with burst pistols” quest. Try using shotguns at close range against jumping players to quickly rack up damage and complete the quest more efficiently.
Unstable Thunderclap DMR Expertise Quests
The DMR Expertise Quests allow players to unlock sales on both the Unstable Thunderclap DMR and the Epic Deadeye DMR, each sold by Outlaw Midas. He can be found in the building on the southwestern side of Utopia City, and players can access his inventory by selecting the DMR Expertise dialogue option when interacting with him.
The Unstable Thunderclap DMR is currently an excellent Exotic Weapon to use, thanks to its potential to dish out explosive damage. Here is a rundown of every Unstable Thunderclap DMR Expertise Quest and its rewards:

To complete the very first Unstable Thunderclap DMR Expertise Quests without having to get a hold of the DMR itself or the Unstable Grenades, simply land at a gas station and destroy a petrol pump.
