Fans of Fortnite recently expressed the desire to see Epic Games add a new feature to the battle royale's Item Shop that would allow players to wishlist cosmetics they can't purchase at the moment. Fortnite is currently wrapping up Chapter 6 Season 3, which features a major collaboration with James Gunn's new film Superman.

The Item Shop is a big part of the popular battle royale, as the free-to-play title makes a lot of its money on microtransactions from players purchasing new skins in Fortnite. Both new and old cosmetics are constantly rotating in and out of the Item Shop. While it is possible to see when items will leave the shop, there is no way of knowing when (or if) they will return. Even when cosmetics do return, it's easy for players to miss them if they don't check the Item Shop on a daily basis.

Fortnite shares some rather unfortunate news for people who like to play Epic Games' popular battle royale in the United Kingdom.

In a recent post on Reddit, Mariolxl shared an image of a Tweet from x103p suggesting that Epic Games should add a new feature to Fortnite's Item Shop that would allow players to wishlist any cosmetic. According to x103p, this could help Epic Games evaluate how much interest there is in seeing any given cosmetic return. They also suggested that players should be able to see how many people have wishlisted the item, granting fans new insight into how much the community likes certain cosmetics. Mariolxl asked other members of the community what they thought about the suggestion, and the response was generally positive.

Fortnite Players Want a Wishlist Feature in the Item Shop

Some people even added to the idea, like uhidekman who said it would be great if wishlisted cosmetics alerted players when they returned to the Item Shop. However, they did note that the current system makes it so that gamers need to check Fortnite's Item Shop regularly, which could drive up engagement. Another person mentioned that it would be nice to be able to view a friend's wishlist, as gamers can gift cosmetics to one another in Fortnite.

Epic Games recently revealed that a fresh set of Fantastic Four skins will be coming to Fortnite's Item Shop alongside the release of the upcoming MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25. While one of The Fantastic Four's most iconic villains, Doctor Doom, has been featured in multiple seasons, this will be the first time the hero group will be coming to the game themselves. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
