The Mother of Thorns is one of the many bosses players can encounter during the Fortnitemares 2025 Event. Unlike most past Fortnite bosses, she doesn’t spawn in just one set location. Instead, the Mother of Thorns can appear in several areas across the island, with her spawn point changing from match to match. Her location will be marked on the player’s map as a skull icon once they get close enough.

Players can also hear music that plays when they are near her, making it a little easier to track her down when heading to a specific POI. Keep in mind, the Mother of Thorns can only be encountered once per match, so once she is defeated, she won’t respawn until you load into a new Battle Royale game.

Here are all the possible spawn locations where the Mother of Thorns can appear:

  • Freaky Fields
  • Gourdy Gate
  • Thorny Throne (POI west of Supernova Academy)

All Rewards for Defeating the Mother of Thorns in Fortnite

The Mother of Thorns boss is fairly easy to defeat during Fortnitemares and can be taken down quickly with a few well-placed headshots. Once defeated, she will drop her signature Thorn Ripper Mythic Weapon, which works similarly to the Chains of Hades. Players can use it to pull in enemies and nearby loot by pressing the Shoot Button while aiming, or deal melee damage by pressing the Shoot Button without aiming.
