The jungle is an extremely important part of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. It's a wild place, and players never know when a dangerous Raptor will appear and try to hunt them down. On top of this, they also have to keep an eye out for any potential opponents that might be lurking - that's why camouflage is crucial.
The Thermal DMR is equipped with a thermal scope, which means it can easily spot players from a distance by capturing their body heat. Update 25.10, the first major patch this season, added a lot of new content to Fortnite, including the Cloak Gauntlets. Once players acquire this item, they'll have no problem hiding from danger. This guide will explain everything there is to know about the Fortnite Cloak Gauntlets.
How to Find the Cloak Gauntlets
The Cloak Gauntlets are Mythic rarity items, which means that they're highly valuable and that they won't be too easy to find.
There are only two ways to obtain the Cloak Gauntlets in Fortnite right now. Players can find the standard Cloak Gauntlets as floor loot or inside chests, or they can find an improved version by taking down the Wildguard Relik boss.
They're both Mythic rarity gauntlets, but since there is only one Wildguard Relik Cloak Gauntlet per match and it's hard to obtain, this version is slightly better as it lasts longer and has a shorter cooldown.
How to Use the Cloak Gauntlets
The Cloak Gauntlets allow users to blend in with the dangerous Fortnite environment almost perfectly by making them nearly completely invisible. To do it, players simply need to equip the Cloak Gauntlets and then activate them. The amount of time that gamers can stay hidden and how often they can use this item depends on which Cloak Gauntlets they have in their inventory. Here are the differences between the two available Cloak Gauntlets:
|
Item |
Cloak duration |
Cooldown |
Charges |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Cloak Gauntlets |
20 seconds |
30 seconds |
Infinite |
|
Wildguard Relik's Cloak Gauntlets |
30 seconds |
20 seconds |
Infinite |
In order to make this item balanced, it's not possible to attack while cloaked. So, players must reveal themselves if they'd like to use a weapon. Swapping inventory items or unequipping the gauntlets altogether will remove their cloak effect.
Alternatively, players who would like to camouflage themselves but haven't managed to find a Cloak Gauntlet yet can always resort to covering themselves in mud.
Fortnite is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
