Fortnite: How to Play on Steam Deck

Fortnite has millions of players worldwide, but unfortunately, Steam Deck doesn’t officially support the game. SteamOS doesn't support Epic Games, but you can still play Fortnite on Valve's console. There are two ways you can do this. It won’t be as good as on other platforms, but you will still manage to have fun and enjoy your favorite game.

How to Play Fortnite on Steam Deck

As mentioned above, there are two ways you can play Fortnite on Steam Deck: Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce Now. These services offer you real-time streaming, but it is important to have a good and stable Internet connection.

Xbox Cloud Gaming

To use Xbox Cloud Gaming, you have to download Microsoft Edge. You won't be able to use this service if you don't have an Xbox Game Pass. Here is how to install Microsoft Edge to use Xbox Cloud Gaming:

Activate Desktop mode on your Steam Deck. Click the Steam button and select Desktop mode in the Power tab.
Next, open the Discover Software Center.
Look for Applications in the sidebar.
Enter Microsoft Edge Beta.
Install the browser.
After you have installed the application, go to the desktop and right-click on the Microsoft Edge icon.
Next, click Add to Steam.
Now, log in to Steam, and in the Library, click Add a Game. Add Microsoft Edge to Steam.
Next, your task is to go to the Applications menu and open the Konsole.
Enter the following:
- flatpak –user override –filesystem=/run/udev:ro com.microsoft.Edge
Now, go to Steam.
Right-click on the Microsoft Edge icon and go to Properties.
Enter this text:
- –window-size=1024,640 –force-device-scale-factor=1.25 –device-scale-factor=1.25 –kiosk “https://www.xbox.com/play
Now, go back to Microsoft Edge properties and allow external controllers.

Now that you have configured Microsoft Edge, open it. Go to the Xbox website and sign in with your Microsoft account. Finally, launch Fortnite.

NVIDIA GeForce Now

To play Fortnite on Steam Deck with NVIDIA GeForce Now, you should follow all the steps mentioned above. But in the Microsoft Edge settings, you need to enter this:
