Fortnite introduced a new Legacy Set for October, but it won't be available for long, so gamers who are interested need to act fast. This guide will tell players everything they need to know about the Shimmerdusk skin and the Extraplanar Hunter's Legacy Set.
How to Unlock the Shimmerdusk Skin
Unlike the Volpez skin, released alongside the July 2023 Fortnite Crew membership, players only have one month to acquire the Shimmerdusk skin. The Winter's Trickster Legacy Set remains available for subscribers until November 1, 2023, but that is not the case with the Extraplanar Hunter's Legacy Set.
Players can only unlock the Shimmerdusk skin and, consequently, the Explanar Hunter's Legacy Set, if they subscribe to Fortnite Crew during the month of October. On top of this, gamers should also keep in mind that Shimmerdusk counts as October 2023's skin, so they won't be receiving two skins this month, unlike what happened in July.
How the Extraplanar Hunter's Legacy Set Works
Just like other Legacy Sets released in the past, gamers will unlock the various stages of the Extraplanar Hunter's Legacy Set by purchasing Fortnite Crew. Each month that the player subscribes, they'll gain access to an additional style for Shimmerdusk as well as her back bling. Here are the various styles that players will be able to get:
- Stage 1: Shimmerdusk skin
- Stage 2: Auric Legacy alternative style for the Shimmerdusk skin
- Stage 3: Phase Legacy alternative style for the Shimmerdusk skin
- Stage 4: Rimebound Legacy alternative style for the Shimmerdusk skin
- Stage 5: Cosmic Legacy alternative style for the Shimmerdusk skin
Gamers will have to subscribe for at least five months if they'd like to gain access to all the available styles for Shimmerdusk. Players who intend to subscribe consecutively for the next few months will receive the last alternative style in February 2024, which is the earliest that anyone will be able to unlock the Cosmic Legacy style.
Although it's only available for those who subscribe in October, once a player has obtained the Extraplanar Hunter's Legacy Set, they won't have to worry about it expiring. Gamers can take as long as they'd like to resubscribe to the Fortnite Crew and still gradually acquire all styles.
