Summary
- Fortnite might be adding a customizable Iron Man skin in the future, according to a new leak.
- The new skin is named “Iron Man (Encrypted Skin)," with one alternate color scheme inspired by Doctor Doom.
According to a new rumor, Fortnite could be getting a new, customizable Iron Man skin in the future. Fortnite has had plenty of guest characters, with a great deal of them hailing from the Marvel universe. From individual skins released to promote an upcoming movie or full-blown events like Chapter 5, Season 4’s Doctor Doom-centric Absolute Doom crossover, there has been no shortage of Marvel heroes and villains showing up on The Island for a quick round of Battle Royale or two.
One of those heroes is Iron Man, who has had multiple Fortnite character skins to go along with his ever-evolving appearances in the Marvel comics and movies. The Fortnite Iron Man Set was first released during Chapter 2, Season 4, and included both a standard Tony Stark skin and an unlockable Suit style inspired somewhat by the “Bleeding Edge” armor from the comics. Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4 saw the addition of the Iron Man Mk 45 skin (based on his appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron), while Chapter 3, Season 4 gave Tony an original, more mech-like Iron Man Zero Skin.
Return of Classic Fortnite NPC Further Teases Next Season's Theme
Fortnite's latest update seemingly confirms previous rumors that claim the game's next update will be centered around one popular theme.
Fortnite leakers blortzen and Loolo_WRLD recently shared a leaked clip of a new Iron Man skin on social media, as reported by Comicbook. This new skin is apparently named “Iron Man (Encrypted Skin)” and sports the same MCU-inspired helmet from past versions of Fortnite's Iron Man with a modified body.
Rumored Fortnite Iron Man Skin Could Be Customizable
One thing that might set this new Fortnite Iron Man skin apart from the Avenger’s past incarnations is customization options. The leakers who initially shared this rumor claim that the new Iron Man will come with various alternate color schemes, including one reportedly inspired by former Fortnite archvillain Doctor Doom. This would be a fitting touch in two ways: not only has Victor von Doom taken up his own version of the Iron Man identity in the comics, but Robert Downey Jr. Will play Doctor Doom in the MCU after helping to make Iron Man a household name on the silver screen.
It isn’t clear if this “Doom-inspired” scheme is a simple green-and-grey recolor or a new skin inspired by the Infamous Iron Man suit, as none of these alternate Iron Man looks have appeared online yet. As such, fans should stay skeptical for the time being. The “Iron Man (Encrypted Skin)” itself seems authentic though, and being able to select different color settings for the same skin would be a great way to capture some of the armored Avenger’s many different looks in Fortnite.
