A prominent Fortnite leaker has claimed that players will soon be able to purchase the reboot cards of fallen teammates for gold at one of the game's many reboot vans. Fortnite is constantly bringing new features to the popular battle royale, which helps to keep the game feeling fresh.
Epic Games recently debuted Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite, which has added a major new feature to the game. Several locations on the map now contain vaults, which can be opened using thermite. However, the process of opening one of these treasure troves is lengthy, and leaves gamers vulnerable to attacks from both players and bots. Those who manage to succeed in pulling off the heist will be rewarded with rare weapons and copious amounts of gold. They'll also be able to claim Dill Coins that can be spent at any of the black markets on the map.
Fortnite Leak Reveals Unused Cosmetics
A prominent Fortnite leaker gives fans a close look at an unreleased cosmetic that may never appear in Epic Games' popular battle royale.
In a recent post on Twitter, Loolo_WRLD claimed that Epic Games will be adding a feature allowing players to purchase reboot cards to bring back eliminated teammates. The video shows someone running up to a reboot van and purchasing the card for one gold. The leaker pointed out that the actual amount of gold required won't be known until the feature is fully released. As of this writing, there's no way of knowing when the feature could make its way into the game. Fans have encountered reboot van glitches in Fortnite that allowed them to instantly bring back a teammate, but this intentional feature could make some big waves during a match.
Fortnite Players May Soon Be Able to Purchase Reboot Cards
The community has already had a mixed reaction to the news, with some looking forward to the feature and others claiming that it ruins the experience of reclaiming a teammate's card. Currently, if a player is eliminated, their reboot card and loot drop on the spot. This results in allies having to contend with whatever danger took out their friend, whether it was the storm, enemies, or something else. Reboot cards also have a time limit, meaning there's a short window where a teammate can be saved before they're out of the game entirely. Being able to purchase reboot cards with gold could fundamentally change the course of a match, and it may prove to be one of the most controversial features to come to Fortnite in quite some time.
Chapter 6 Season 2 seems to be adding a lot of fresh elements to the game, as some gamers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a teased "Rift Gun" in Fortnite. From what was shown, the weapon looks similar to a shotgun but can be seen firing off a rift instead of a projectile, which makes the opposing player disappear. Rifts are known for sending gamers harmlessly into the air, which means this gun would likely be used more for utility than offense. With so much content to look forward to, many fans are excited about the future of Fortnite.
