Summary
- Fortnite may soon allow creators to build maps with collab items, opening up new possibilities for fans.
- Collaborations with popular franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are on the horizon for Fortnite.
- However, creators will have to share revenue with IP owners, potentially restricting the availability of collab items.
Fortnite is apparently opening up the floodgates for its Creative mode as a new leak suggests that it will soon allow creators to build maps with collab items in them, something that wasn't possible for a long time. In the past, created had to deal with serious consequences for using copyrighted content in Fortnite Creative, but it seems like that is all set to change pretty soon.
Fortnite is well known for its flashy collabs, and the ongoing season has been no exception. While many fans were surprised when the Fallout collaboration was announced, Epic Games followed up with yet another interesting partnership with Pirates of the Caribbean in Fortnite. As fans await what Epic Games has in store for them next, it seems like some of the past collaborations might be featured in the game pretty soon.
Fortnite Adds New Deadpool and Wolverine Skins
Fortnite introduces new skins for Marvel superheroes Deadpool and Wolverine alongside the release of their new team-up MCU film.
As per a new leak by popular Fortnite leaker HYPEX, players could soon be getting a chance to try out their favorite collabs in Fortnite once again. Apparently, Fortnite is all set to bring a way to add the much-requested collab items to Creative mode. It is not yet known how many of the collaborations will be featured, but the leak does state that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the only one supported for now. However, more of these will likely be added in the near future.
Fortnite Creative's Collab Could Lead To Lesser Revenue For Creators
As one might have guessed, there is a catch. For creators to use the collab items, a percentage of the revenue earned in Fortnite Creative will go to the respective IP owners. One user asked the leaker how many collab weapons one can expect to be added as part of this, to which they replied that it is likely that the items won't be added until the agreements are finalized with the respective IP owners. This might involve negotiating the percentage cuts, and possibly even which items will be made available as part of the Fortnite Creative.
Fortnite players are already curating their wishlist of collabs and items they want to see as part of this upcoming feature. To no surprise, the Marvel collaboration items in Fortnite seem to be the most in-demand, with players looking for another opportunity to wield the Stormbreaker or Iron Man's gauntlets. If this becomes a reality, it will be interesting to see what restrictions are imposed on the creators, as crossovers of various collab items in a map could again lead to a whole load of issues with the IP holders.
