The infamous Tart Tycoon skin is rumored to be returning to Fortnite as part of the game's upcoming relaunch on iOS. After years of legal battles, Epic Games' Fortnite is set to return to the iOS App Store this month, a huge development for the free-to-play battle royale game. The Tart Tycoon skin will reportedly come alongside Fortnite' s Tart Tycoon Cup, a tournament players can take part in, marking a new, yet familiar chapter for the game.
Fortnite has undergone numerous changes and evolutions over the years, though the game's accessibility has likely been one of the contributing factors to its success. Fortnite can be experienced on a multitude of platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. However, Fortnite was at one point playable on the iPhone, something that hasn't been possible in roughly five years due to a long and tumultuous legal battle between Epic and Apple. This changes soon, with Fortnite set to return to iOS.
Darth Vader Location and Rewards in Fortnite Galactic Battle
Darth Vader is always an imposing threat, and his latest samurai rendezvous on the Fortnite Battle Royale island spells disaster for cowardly rebels.
Later this week, Fortnite will once again be available in the App Store, with the game's return also marking the arrival of the fan-favorite Tart Tycoon Skin. According to frequent Fortnite scooper HYPEX, the Tart Tycoon skin, a cosmetic intended to be a spoof of Apple itself, will be making its return to the game alongside its relaunch on iOS devices. The rare skin was originally part of Fortnite's Tart Tycoon Cup, a special limited-time tournament, though it's unclear if there will be different requirements to receive it this time around.
Tart Tycoon Skin Rumored to Be Returning in Fortnite
Leaks suggest that Epic Games is gearing up to bring this tournament back in celebration of the game coming back to the App Store. Fortnite was removed from the App Store in 2020, just two years after its launch, due to the game using its own in-game store, evading Apple's mandatory 30% in-app purchase tax. A year later in 2021, a court decision found Apple in contempt and accused the company of a "cover-up," requiring it to cooperate with third-party payment methods. An agreement was eventually made, paving the way for Fortnite's return to the App Store.
The return of the game comes alongside the recent launch of Fortnite's new Star Wars season, which officially kicked off on May 2. Players can immerse themselves in Star Wars-inspired locations around Fortnite's updated island, as well as use some items inspired by the iconic sci-fi series. Perhaps the most exciting part of the update is Fortnite's new battle pass, which includes some unexpected skins like a Chewbacca Team Lead Leader, as well as Darth Jar Jar.
