Summary
- A new Fortnite leak hints at Figment mode resembling Chapter 1 and possibly being permanent.
- The leak details a game mode supporting 100 players and various variants.
- Introduction of a Chapter 1-based mode may divide Fortnite's player base.
A new Fortnite leak suggests that the original Chapter 1 could return as part of a new Figment mode in Chapter 6, as a similar loot pool has been found in the game's files. The return of Chapter 1 in Fortnite last year brought back a lot of players and the game shattered several records, so it being a part of a permanent mode is something many would be happy about.
Epic Games is gearing up for the release of Chapter 6 in Fortnite, which is slated to bring several new changes to the game. Recently, the Remix event debuted in Fortnite to mark the conclusion of the current Chapter, adding tons of new collaborations, skins, and much more. Amid that, some new details have emerged about the next Chapter in Fortnite.
Sony Reveals New PS5 Console Bundle
Sony reveals a brand-new PlayStation 5 console bundle for shoppers to pick up this holiday season.
In a tweet, Fortnite leaker Wensoing reveals an interesting detail about a new game mode coming to Fortnite. Apparently, there is a new game mode that has been discovered in the game files known as Figment. The Figment mode will reportedly support 100 players as usual and have solos, duos, squads, and Zero Build variants. However, what makes it exciting is the fact that it might be based on Chapter 1. The leak suggests that the game mode has a similar loot pool as Chapter 1 Season 1, and it will apparently be a permanent mode in the game.
Fortnite Leaks Possible Return of OG, But With a Twist
It is important to note that this is different from the leaked Core mode in Fortnite, which is speculated to allow players to take part in 5v5 battles, similar to games like Call of Duty. While the return of Chapter 1 in Fortnite might be good news for a lot of fans, the leak has divided the community. Many fans believe that the introduction of a permanent Chapter 1-based mode separate from the main game will significantly divide the player base. This would mean that there will be a lesser number of players in each playlist, which could lead to a host of issues.
Just like the 5v5 mode, this has not been confirmed by Epic Games, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. So far, Epic Games has been quite successful in implementing new game modes in Fortnite. For instance, the Reload mode was an absolute hit when it was launched earlier this year. Recently, Epic Games also added the much-requested solos option to Fortnite Reload. With the next Chapter less than a month away, fans will be learning more about it pretty soon.
