Summary

  • Fortnite fans are unhappy that the OG Pass is priced at 1,000 V-Bucks.
  • Fortnite OG offers nostalgia for veterans and showcases the game's early days for newer players.
  • Subscription to Fortnite Crew includes all passes, V-Bucks, and exclusive skin for $11.99, but some players prefer individual passes.

Fortnite fans have expressed frustration with the current cost of the OG Pass, as it is priced at 1,000 V-Bucks to purchase by itself. In recent years, Fortnite has expanded its offerings, giving players the opportunity to engage with its LEGO Pass, Festival Pass, and OG Pass. Players can claim the benefits of every pass for one price if they subscribe to Fortnite Crew.

Fortnite OG transports players back to 2017, giving Fortnite veterans a bit of nostalgia while offering newer players a chance to see what the game was like when it first launched. The new game mode was a success from the very start, reaching 1.1 million concurrent players within a few hours of its release. The first season of Fortnite OG even had its own section in Fortnite's Item Shop, giving players the rare opportunity to acquire the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper skins.

Fortnite vaults several weapons in its competitive modes.
Fortnite Makes Changes to Competitive Loot Pool

Fortnite announces that it is making several changes to the loot pool ahead of tournaments in Epic Games' popular battle royale.

In a recent post on Reddit, Classic-Spiral suggested that Fortnite's OG Pass is overpriced, as it currently costs 1,000 V-Bucks to purchase on its own. Many gamers agreed, pointing out that the game's main battle pass is the exact same price but includes at least twice as many cosmetics. One person added that the main battle pass also gives players the opportunity to earn 1,500 V-Bucks as they unlock everything. The OG Pass doesn't include any premium currency, which hasn't been popular with some fans. Classic-Spiral stated that the pass should be half the price, as it includes half as many cosmetics as the base battle pass.

Fortnite Fans Think the OG Pass Is Overpriced

Some people suggested that the pricing of the OG Pass could be part Epic Games' push to have players engage with its Crew subscription, which includes every pass, 1,000 V-Bucks, and an exclusive Fortnite skin every month. While many fans feel that the $11.99 price tag of the Crew subscription is worth it, others don't like the idea that they're being pushed into paying monthly for the popular battle royale. Of course, gamers do have the option of purchasing each pass on their own for a higher price.

Unfortunately, the popularity of Fortnite OG has faded to a degree. Epic Games recently announced that it would be shutting down the servers for Fortnite's OG Ranked Zero Build mode due to "matchmaking health," which means not enough players were engaging with it. While some gamers were shocked by the news, others suggested that Fortnite OG was a flash in the pan that gave people what they wanted for a few weeks and then lost a lot of its players. Despite some issues with the pricing of some passes and a few hiccups with Fortnite OG, many fans are optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
