With the release of Chapter 3, Season 2, Fortnite has introduced a number of changes to its battle royale format, including bringing in new weapons and the powerful IO Titan Tanks. As with previous seasons, players who have purchased the Battle Pass using V-Bucks can obtain additional items and in-game customizations, such as the Omni Sword Pickaxe. As players move around the map, Omni Chips can be collected and used to modify the appearance and sound of the sword.
During the latest season, which has seen the temporary removal of building from the battle royale, new Omni Chips will be released at the start of each week. Many players will be trying to collect chips from various locations across the Fortnite map, although this guide focuses on the three Omni Chips located at Greasy Grove.
Greasy Grove Omni Chips
The Omni Chips within Greasy Grove can be found in three locations, which are circled on the map below. On the Fornite map, Greasy Grove is in the southwest corner, with road connections east to Pleasant Palms and northeast to Tilted Towers. Three further Omni Chips can be found at Logjam Lumberyard in the northern section of the map.
Omni Chip 1 - At the southernmost point of Greasy Grove, a set of iron railings can be found leading to a small park containing an open brick shelter. Head under the shelter to find the chip in plain sight.
Omni Chip 2 - The second chip is located on a pedestrian crossing just north of the Taco restaurant. There is little cover here, so the chip should be collected quickly to avoid being spotted by other players.
Omni Chip 3 - Once the second chip has been obtained, head into the taco restaurant to find the third and final chip in Greasy Grove. It is located near the service counters, close to an ammo box. Depending on the placing of the storm circle, more Omni Chips can be collected at Mighty Monument.
Unlocking the Omni Sword in Fortnite
Gamers that have purchased the Fortnite Battle Pass can find the Omni Sword in the main menu’s Battle Pass rewards section. Once the sword has been claimed, on the first page of the pass, selecting the sword will reveal the customization screen, where different options to alter the new Fortnite weapon can be selected. For example, different blades, colors, and guards can all be chosen.
