Summary
- The Fortnite community gained the ability to build in Zero Build mode by opening Pandora's Box in-game.
- Epic Games added Zero Build mode permanently due to success, pleasing fans looking to avoid the building skill gap.
- Players can jump into Pandora's Box vortex and defeat NPCs for materials to build in Zero Build mode.
The Fortnite community successfully opened Pandora's Box in-game, and this unexpectedly made it possible for players to build in the Zero Build game mode. Besides its unique graphic style, the concept of building is one of the main reasons that Fortnite stood out as a Battle Royale game. It was such a different gameplay mechanic that it sparked interest among numerous players all over the world. However, a great percentage of the community appreciated many things about Fortnite except building.
Epic Games initially released a limited-time Battle Royale mode without any building. It was such a success that it decided to add Zero Build mode to Fortnite permanently. Many fans were happy with this decision, especially since the skill gap had increased tremendously at that point. Gamers who hadn't touched the game in months came back to try it out and stuck around, exclusively playing Zero Build.
Fortnite Leaks New Weapon
A Fortnite dataminer reveals the details of a new, unreleased weapon, which might be added with the launch of Fortnite's next season on March 8.
On March 3, a Titan Hand rose out of the ground during a live event to tease the upcoming season. This hand held up chains wrapped around what fans concluded to be Pandora's Box. The Fortnite community had to come together and work hard to break the chains and cause Pandora's Box to fall to the ground. This happened in less than 24 hours, and when it did, a firey vortex came out of it. As soon as it rose to the skies, players decided to test it and jump into it to see what would happen. It seems that entering the Pandora's Box vortex enables the ability to build in Fortnite Zero Build mode.
How to Build in Zero Build Mode
- Jump into the vortex coming out Pandora's Box
- Eliminate NPCs to collect materials
- Build
If players jump into the Pandora's Box vortex, they will be able to retrieve materials by taking down NPCs and looting their bodies, and these materials will allow them to build. According to the ancient Greek myth of Pandora's Box, when Pandora was given the box, she was instructed to never open it. However, she did, and this freed all the evils of the world. On the bright side, she also released hope. It is possible that building was enabled in Zero Build mode as a parallel to the evils mentioned in the myth. However, it is much more likely that this is simply a glitch that happened when the box broke up.
There have been several glitches in Fortnite in the past, and Epic Games tries its best to solve them as quickly as possible. Zero Build could become temporarily unavailable to avoid this error happening again while it is being fixed.
