Summary

  • Epic Games has made a change in Fortnite that allows any party member to select the game mode, leading to dissatisfaction among fans.
  • This change could cause problems, including matchmaking issues and potential disputes between teammates.
  • Many players have asked Epic Games to revert this change before it becomes widely known and exploited by trolls.

Epic Games has made it so anyone in a party can alter the current game mode in Fortnite, and fans became quite unhappy as soon as they noticed this change. Fortnite started off with Save the World and Battle Royale, and for a couple of years, these were the only two options gamers had. Then, Limited-Time Modes, or LTMs, would come and go, and eventually, Creative launched, which largely replaced the need to release more LTMs in Fortnite as players could simply create and enjoy their own game modes.

As Fortnite grew, Ranked, Zero Build, Creative 2.0, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival all became permanent additions to the game, and it won't stop now, especially with how popular the three most recently added game modes have become. Fortnite Festival is even getting three new modes, and the other games will certainly continue to expand with the release of new patches and content updates.

Fortnite Leak Reveals Possible New Vehicle Mechanic

A Fortnite leak might have revealed that Epic Games is planning to add an interesting vehicle feature with future updates to the game.

Given how much variety Fortnite fans have at their disposal, it can be hard to select the game they'd prefer to dive into, and that is why there's a party leader feature in the game. However, this feature has now been changed. Previously, the party leader could freely select the game mode that the entire squad would play and who got to be in it. It seems that now party leaders will no longer have full control over mode selection. Epic Games has modified the role of the party leader so that everyone gets to decide which game mode the squad will play. Fans were dissatisfied with this, as it'll make it much harder to handle disagreements between party members.

Initially, fans thought this was an unintentional Fortnite glitch, but it turns out that Epic Games opted to make it a feature. Gamers quickly saw how this could turn out to be a disaster. It is not possible to get into a game in Fortnite if the mode is changed halfway through matchmaking, and this will be most likely the case if too many players have the power to do so. It could promote trolling and perhaps lead to more disputes between teammates.

Epic Games didn't release any patch notes for the last Fortnite update, so at the moment, not many players have noticed this change, as it's not completely obvious. Multiple members of the Fortnite community have asked Epic Games to revert these recent changes, and hopefully, it will do so before too many gamers become aware of this and take advantage of it to annoy other players.
