Players in Fortnite’s Rocket Racing mode hit the track in the default blue Octane high-powered vehicle. While there’s nothing wrong with this car, it’s pretty basic and generic, and everyone on the track has it. If you want to stand out on the race track and show off, customize your car by adding new decals and wheels.
The customization feature in Rocket Racing is a great way to build your dream car and bling it out. Unfortunately, few players know how to unlock new car parts to customize their vehicles, and this guide details how to do this.
2023 Just Became the Most Important Year in Fortnite's History
Fortnite has seen several new developments in 2023 that have made it into the most impactful year in the game's lifespan to date.
How to Customize Your Car in Rocket Racing
To customize your vehicle in Rocket Racing, complete the Season Zero Kickoff Quests. There are five quests for players to complete, each with seven stages. Once you complete a quest and all its stages, you get XP and new car parts to unlock.
Where to Get Decals in Fortnite Rocket Racing
To get Decals in Fortnite Rocket Racing, players can do the following:
Complete Quest Decals
The Season Zero Quests offers players 5 decals when they complete each quest. This includes:
- Complete 5 quests: A wing Decal
- Complete 10 quests: A lightning bolt Decal
- Complete 15 quests: A star Decal
- Complete 20 quests: A tech Decal
- Complete 25 quests: A skull Decal
If you race in 10 matches and complete them from beginning to end, you get the Dieselback Pack Back. There are also Bonus Goals included in the Season Zero Quests for players to complete and unlock new decals.
Purchase the Battle Pass
The Fortnite Battle Pass offers players more decals, wheels, and customization options for their cars. For example, ranking to level 82 allows you to unlock the Scorpion car, and you can unlock its decals by progressing to level 86. This includes Llama-Matic, Society, and Stripes decals.
Purchase Decals In-Store
You can buy new decals and cars from the Rocket Racing in-game store. When you purchase a car bundle, you get unique decals to pair it with. For example, the Cyclone Bundle comes with Flames, Whiteout, Stipes, L-Ita 99, Bat Boy, and Sliver decals. On the other hand, the Diesel Bundle has tripe, Lightning Bolt, Wings, Flames, Lucky Seven, and OO decals. Purchasing decals in-store can be expensive as some bundles cost up to $4,000 V-Bucks, but you can get others for as low as $2,500 V-Bucks.
