UPDATE 6/13: Fortnite matchmaking and login issues have reportedly been resolved.
Original story follows.
Since around 7:00 PM EST, Fortnite players have been reporting matchmaking and login issues when trying to play the game. The support account for Fortnite has since acknowledged there are issues and is investigating the problem. Unfortunately, it is unknown when the outage will be fixed.
Fortnite recently started Chapter 6 Season 3, adding new content to the game. Featuring a superhero theme, Epic Games has introduced Superman and Robin as part of the latest battle pass. In addition, Hero Items were added, allowing players to use special powers after picking them up. More collaborations might come to the game during the season, giving fans something to look forward to. The release of the new content for Chapter 6 Season 3 has encouraged many players to log on. However, it appears that some issues are currently preventing many from doing so.
Cleveland Brown Skin and Cosmetics in Fortnite
Cleveland Brown, an iconic character from Family Guy and The Cleveland Show, is now available in Fortnite - here is how to get it.
On June 13, Fortnite players began reporting server issues, preventing them from playing the game. Shortly after, Fortnite Status shared a post on social media confirming that matchmaking and login issues were currently impacting the game’s player base. According to the statement, the developer was investigating to determine what was causing the problem. It is worth noting that an update on the Epic Games status page has since stated the issue has been discovered with a fix being worked on. However, it is unclear how long this will take to complete.
Fortnite is Experiencing a Major Outage
Currently, the Epic Games status page reveals that features related to Fortnite are experiencing a "Major Outage." Things like game services, login, voice chat, item shop, and more have been impacted. This outage is doubtlessly frustrating for players who have been wanting to play the game with their friends, especially considering this is the start of the weekend.
Hopefully, Epic Games will be able to resolve the issues quickly so players can return to matchmaking in Chapter 6 Season 3 of Fortnite. In the meantime, they should stay tuned to Fortnite Status for future updates.
