A Star Destroyer has arrived in Fortnite, and players will be able to take control of this dreaded ship of the Galactic Empire to lay waste to their enemies from above. The Star Destroyer has immense power that players can claim, but only one in the lobby will have the right to control this ship and destroy all who oppose the Empire and the commanding player's Victory Royale.
All Fortnite Galactic Battle Pass Skins and Rewards
This is where the fun begins, as the galaxy far, far away has crossed over into Fortnite to provide players with a Star Wars-themed Battle Pass.
If players want to control a Star Destroyer in Fortnite, then they are going to need to look below to see the steps required of them so that they can enjoy unlimited power with ease and provide themselves with a victory worth celebrating as a Sith Lord.
How to Easily Get the Star Destroyer in Fortnite
The Star Destroyer is accessed through a portal in the Battle Royale map that will spawn at a random location within the storm circle. The Star Destroyer spawns during Storm 2 of 12 at around 1:25 seconds on the timer, so that's around 5 minutes from players dropping from the Battle Bus. The Star Destroyer spawn is impossible to miss, as a loud siren will alarm players, and a text will appear at the bottom of their screen that says "Star Destroyer Portal is Open!"
Players will be able to find the Star Destroyer portal by looking at the minimap for a Star Destroyer icon, or by following the same Star Destroyer icon that can be found on the HUD at the top of the screen. The best way to get to the Star Destroyer before other players is to use an X-Wing or a TIE Fighter to fly within the storm circle and simply wait for the Star Destroyer to spawn. Avoid other players and fly directly to the portal, as once players have entered it, the Star Destroyer is theirs, and no one else's, unless they have teammates.
How Does the Star Destroyer in Fortnite Work?
Once players have entered the Star Destroyer portal, they will emerge with a birds-eye-view of the Battle Royale map. From here, players have 1 minute and 20 seconds in the Star Destroyer, where they cannot be killed. Within the Star Destroyer, players can use the left stick to move their aiming cursor, and then hit R2 to fire a blaster cannon. The blaster cannon deals 73 splash damage and 120 damage on a direct hit. Players can endlessly use the Fire (R2) button every second, and they will be able to tell where enemies are thanks to the red triangle that points out enemies. Players can even zoom in and out so that they have a better view of the map, but players cannot steer the Star Destroyer, only the turbolaser cannon, thus leaving them unable to move it freely around the map; they will have a set path ahead.
If players are in Squads, then all 4 players have their own cannon on the Star Destroyer, but the total damage is reduced by 0.4x. After 1 minute and 20 seconds (or if players hold Circle/B to exit), the Star Destroyer will disappear through a rift, and players will be able to glide down to safety after causing as much damage as they can. The video above details the destruction and eliminations we managed to get in a solo game.
