Fortnite players aren't happy about the new set of quests released by Epic Games as part of the Summer Road Trip event, as it requires them to be in a party to get the rewards. It's been quite an eventful season for Fortnite fans, with a plethora of interesting collaborations taking place in the game. The event itself started with a partnership with Fallout, which not a lot of fans had expected. Recently, the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover also kicked off in Fortnite, giving players a plethora of exciting rewards. That being said, fans are unhappy about one of the new events in the game.

Fortnite's latest update poses a large problem for Xbox gamers, with the team at Epic Games now addressing the issue directly.

In a new post on the Fortnite subreddit, user hwanlv highlights a frustrating requirement for the newly added Summer Road Trip quests in Fortnite. One of the quests requires players to earn XP while in a party when playing in Battle Royale, Reload, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, or Festival mode. While there are a variety of game modes in which players can complete the challenge, the issue lies with the fact that players need to be in a party to complete the quest. Additionally, players need to get a total of 60,000 XP to complete the quest, which isn't an easy task to do by any means whatsoever. However, there is a workaround for solo players involving the split screen feature.

Complete The Fortnite Quest Using The Split-Screen Feature

All players need to do is create another account and then use the split screen feature in Fortnite. It should be noted that this would only work if the player is playing on PlayStation and Xbox, and the feature is not available on other platforms. Players can try some other workarounds, such as using a virtual machine to mimic the feature, but it is probably a much easier option to make friends in a random match.

How to Play Fortnite in Split Screen on PlayStation & Xbox

  • Start Fortnite and navigate to the Lobby
  • Connect the second controller and select the account for it.
  • Log in with the second controller using the Triangle button on Playstation and A button on Xbox.
  • Once the player gets added to the lobby, start the game to enter split-screen mode.

While one might think that using the Team Fill option is the way to go for this quest, unfortunately, that doesn't work. Players need to squad up with their friends to complete the quest, and simply filling the party with random players isn't enough to get the 30k XP rewards for the Fortnite challenge. The good news is that players don't need a full party to complete this, and just pairing up with one more friend is enough. Several players highlighted in the comments section that they are solo players and don't have friends who play Fortnite, which makes it really difficult for them to complete the challenge.
