How to Get & Use the Unstable Element in Fortnite

What Does the Unstable Element Do?

You can find the Unstable Element by heading to the Innoloop Labs, the center POI of the island. Once you're here, locate the Zero Point Shard at the center, and then break the glass underneath it to drop down into a secret subarea known as Collider Corridor X. Now that you're inside, you can head further down to the Particle Accelerator, where you can teleport between Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2. Upon teleporting multiple times, the Unstable Element will be placed in your inventory.

With the Unstable Element in your loadout, you can follow across the Particle Accelerator until you find a locked door by a Port-a-Potty. If you have the Unstable Element, you will be prompted to Open Vault via the F key on PC, or Square/X on PlayStation and Xbox. Using the Unstable Element to open the Vault will reveal a secret Rare Chest that grants you free Legendary loot at random. For instance, we found a Legendary Vengeful Sniper Rifle and a Chug Jug!
