Summary

  • Fortnite players can unlock exclusive Pirates of the Caribbean cosmetics by completing Cursed Sails Quests in the new limited-time event.
  • Pirate Codes will be released on a set schedule, rewarding players with Map Pieces and Jack's Ship Glider for completing quests.
  • The event also offers Pirate Cannons for launching across the map, Buried Treasure Maps for unlocking cosmetics, and more.

Jack Sparrow has officially arrived in Fortnite as part of the new limited-time Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, the Cursed Sails Pass. By completing quests and working down the Pass' free rewards track, Fortnite players can unlock exclusive cosmetics, such as Jack’s Cutlass and Bane Pickaxe and Jack’s Prize Back Bling.

Pirates of the Caribbean is just one of several collaborations to come from Fortnite. The first instance of a crossover outside the Fortnite brand occurred during the Search for Survivors event in Fortnite: Save the World. Past collaborations have included Marvel's Avengers, NFL, Marshmello, John Wick, Stranger Things, and DC Comics' Batman and Catwoman. But for Fortnite's Pirates of the Caribbean crossover, fans have a seemingly endless array of cosmetics, not just a Jack Sparrow skin.

Fortnite: Jar of Dirt Location

Players can seek out a jar of dirt in Fortnite to deliver it to the man who needs it most in the Pirates of the Caribbean collab for some sweet XP.

The Cursed Sails Pass will run until August 6 and give Fortnite players the chance to complete Cursed Sails Quests and unlock Pirates of the Caribbean-themed cosmetics using Cursed Gold. Both the free rewards track and the premium rewards track can be completed simultaneously, but purchasing the premium rewards track for 1,000 V-Bucks will instantly unlock the Jack Sparrow outfit, also available in LEGO form. While searching around the Shipwreck Shallows pirate ship, among other places, players can find a Ship in a Bottle. By breaking the Ship in a Bottle, players can summon a ghostly ship to come forth and crash into their opponents to deal damage.

Codes of the Pirate Brethren Release Dates

The Cursed Sails Quests are divided into eight separate quests known as “Pirate Codes,” which will be going live according to a set schedule through August 6. By completing four Quests in each Code, players will unlock a Map Piece. Collecting all eight Map Pieces will award the player with Jack’s Ship Glider.

  • The Pirate Code One Quests are live now.

  • The Pirate Code Three Quests go live July 23 at 9 AM ET.
  • The Pirate Code Four Quests go live July 25 at 9 AM ET.

But that isn't all that Shipwreck Shallows has to offer. Players can find Pirate Cannons to jump into and launch oneself across the map. Alternatively, the cannons can be wheeled around and fired at will. In addition, Buried Treasure Maps can be followed to unlock cosmetics like the Flint-Knock Pistol, a weapon that can be found on the ground or inside normal chests as well.

Furthermore, Elizabeth Swann, Captain Barbossa, and Davy Jones all became available for purchase from Fortnite's in-game store a few days ago. Each cosmetic set comes with a LEGO replica of the skin and unique weapons catered to the specific character. Alternatively, Fortnite offers all three sets, plus the Davy’s Pipe Organ Emote, as part of the Pirates of the Caribbean bundle, which will be available in the Item Shop until 8 PM ET on August 6.
