- The Walking Dead crossover includes a new skin for Negan, inspired by the comic book series, alongside features like the Lucille Melee Weapon.
Epic Games has officially announced a new crossover between Fortnite and The Walking Dead, bringing new Walker NPCs, two UEFN templates, new weapons, and fresh Prefabs and Galleries to UEFN and Fortnite Creative. The Walking Dead has become a cultural phenomenon thanks to creator Robert Kirkman’s iconic comic book and AMC’s live-action adaptation of the run. The parent series spawned several spin-off shows, including Fear the Walking Dead, and more recently, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, and Fortnite is capitalizing on its popularity.
Fortnite was first released in 2017, forming the popular battle royale mode alongside Fortnite Creative and several other versions, including Fortnite: Save the World and Lego Fortnite. Fortnite OG recently released a new season 3 update, featuring Lucky Landing’s return, 50v50, memorable weapons, and a new OG Fortnite Pass with cosmetic items inspired by classic skins. However, most Fortnite fans with even the slightest interest in pop culture will be running into Fortnite Creative to bag the latest Walking Dead goodies.
Fortnite Could Be Getting Another Mini-Season
A prominent Fortnite leaker believes that Chapter 6 Season 3 of the popular battle royale could end up being shorter than usual.
A new trailer and social media post confirmed The Walking Dead’s crossover with UEFN and Fortnite Creative would deliver an anticipated Negan skin, complete with a Shiva Shotgun and Lucille Melee Weapon, as well as comic-book-inspired Walkers, and the ability to toggle on a new effect to give gameplay a comic book aesthetic. A rumor predicting The Walking Dead’s Negan was coming to Fortnite surfaced very close to the official announcement. However, leaker HYPEX believed the crossover would be themed after The Walking Dead: Dead City, since the spin-off TV series is hyping up its second season, and possibly feature a Maggie Greene skin alongside Negan.
Fortnite Announces New Crossover With The Walking Dead Featuring a Negan Skin
Fans of the battle royale were blessed back in 2021 when Rick Grimes was confirmed to be joining the Fortnite shenanigans for 1,500 V-bucks (at the time), and players were grateful to see one of the sheriff’s sworn enemies drop into gameplay in 2025. The Fortnite community praised the impressive-looking assets and the zombies’ graphics, but some were disappointed the game restricted the addition of assets from the TV show on players’ islands.
Fortnite’s very first crossover with The Walking Dead came about in 2020, welcoming Daryl Dixon and Michonne onto the field. The partnership was revealed during that year’s The Game Awards, and the union joins several other Fortnite crossovers that have taken place over the years, including the addition of Halo’s Master Chief and Star Wars’ The Mandalorian with Din Djarin accompanied by baby Yoda.
