Updated details on how to watch The Simpsons live event in Fortnite
Epic Games has revealed that The Simpsons live event will be set in a different game mode called "Welcome, Our Alien Overlord." It is now available in Fortnite, but players will not be able to join the experience until a few moments before the start of the event.
Players will easily be able to find it in the Discovery tab. Thirty minutes after the start of the event, servers will shut down and downtime will begin so the developers can prepare for The Simpsons mini-season.

According to the official Fortnite Twitter account, The Simpsons live event is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, at 11 AM ET. However, players have been advised to "drop in" before this time so they can ensure that they're not too late and don't miss the event.
Why is Fortnite down?
Fortnite will disable matchmaking for 40 minutes on October 31 at 2 AM ET. This is most likely so the developers can prepare for the upcoming event.
How to Watch The Simpsons Live Event in Fortnite
Epic Games has not provided clear details of how players can watch The Simpsons live event, but since there have been no mentions of creative island codes or interactive experience maps, it will most likely take place on the Battle Royale island. This means that in order to watch The Simpsons event players should enter a Battle Royale or Zero Build match a few minutes before 11 AM ET on November 1.
It is unknown if weapons or enemy fire will be disabled during the event, so to guarantee that they are able to watch it, players should simply glide around the map once they've left the Battle Bus and avoid getting too close to any enemies if they reach the ground.
It is likely that whatever happens will take place by the mysterious anomaly tree near Creepy Camps, as Bart's treehouse seems to be somehow connected with the strange, purple energy.
According to reliable dataminers, such as HYPEX, once the live event ends, an end screen will appear, and downtime will start. Once servers go down, Chapter 6 Season 4 will officially be over, and players will have to wait until downtime ends to jump back into Fortnite.
