With Winterfest season around the corner, many gamers have started to wonder when the event will start. This guide will tell them everything they need to know about Winterfest, including when it should be released and what players can expect.

Winterfest Event: Expected Date

Fortnite Winterfest 2022 Returns with Free Rewards, Unvaulted Weapons, and More

Fortnite Season OG came to an end on December 2, and Battle Royale entered Chapter 5 in the early hours of December 3. Winterfest didn't start right away, so gamers had to patiently wait for information on the event's start date. Fortnite added three new games: Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. However, Epic Games has been quiet regarding the highly-anticipated seasonal event.

Taking into consideration the past update launch dates, the Winterfest event will likely start on Thursday, December 14 at 9 AM PT. The event tends to last a total of three weeks, so that players get to unwrap as many presents as possible, so it should come to an end on January 3, 2024.

What to Expect From the Winterfest Event

Epic Games has gone all out to celebrate Winterfest for the past couple of years. Epic tends to add a lodge to the lobby, where players can relax by the fire and open their presents. However, this year this idea has been scrapped, and to receive all free 14 Winterfest rewards, players will have to complete daily Winterfest quests. So, they won't be able to simply log in, grab their reward, and go, they'll actually have to enter a match and complete some tasks.

However, the rewards are definitely worth the effort. Just like last year, gamers will be able to unlock two free skins and several other cosmetic items. Many players tend to get especially excited about this event, as it has some of the most valuable rewards.

Some Winterfest items, such as the Snowball Launcher and the Sneaky Snowmando, have already been added to Fortnite; they can be obtained by talking to certain NPCs. However, it is expected that they will be added to the standard loot pool once the event starts.
