- This year's Winterfest event in Fortnite is expected to start on Wednesday, December 13 at 9 AM PT.
- The event will likely include daily presents and free items for players to unlock.
- Past Winterfest events have featured winter-themed skins and cosmetics that players can collect.
Fortnite hosts a holiday event every year called Winterfest, and recent leaks make it possible for fans to estimate when this year's event should be released. Fortnite Season OG started off with the Chapter 1 Season 5 map, but as time went by, it received hotfixes that brought back other locations from the following seasons. So, even though at first the map only had greenery and desert areas, the snow biome was eventually added due to the Season 7 update. Season OG will end soon, and in its final stages, it has now been updated to contain Season 9 and Season X-themed items and locations, but the snow biome will remain available until Chapter 5 starts.
Chapter 1 Season 7 was a winter-themed season with lots of skins inspired by ice, snow, and the holidays. Since the upcoming Fortnite chapter will start at the beginning of December, it is possible that Epic Games could add a few Winterfest skins to the mix when the new Battle Pass is released. Even if that's not the case, many fans had already started to wonder when they could expect the event to start.
ShiinaBR, a known leaker in the Fortnite community, shared that update v28.01 will be released in mid-December, and it'll include the long-awaited Winterfest content. Fortnite Season OG will end on December 2, and the next chapter will start the following day. Since updates tend to come out on Tuesdays, it's likely that the update will become available on December 12, so that the Winterfest event can go live on December 13 once daily quests update. However, this is just an estimate based on past years and leaked information.
When Can Players Expect Winterfest to Start?
- Wednesday, December 13 at 9 AM PT
For the past couple of years, Fortnite has allowed fans to open a present a day, starting 12 days before Christmas. It is unknown if Epic Games will follow this same tradition this year, but if it does, gamers can expect the Winterfest event to start on Wednesday, December 13.
Winterfest 2022 included free items, the return of the Snowball Launcher and the Present item, and Sgt. Winter as a themed NPC. Players got to unlock tons of cosmetic items last year, and this included great-looking skins such as Arctic Adeline and Sled Ready Guff. In total, they received three sprays, three lobby tracks, two skins, two gliders, two wraps, one harvesting tool, one contrail, one back bling, one emote, and one emoticon. Once the new chapter update comes out, dataminers will be hard at work trying to find as much information as possible on any upcoming Winterfest rewards and Item Shop cosmetics.
