Fortnite may be getting ready to announce its next collaboration with The Witcher franchise with a potential brand-new skin for Ciri. It's not uncommon to see characters from other renowned franchises make their way to Fortnite, in fact, it has now grown to be a staple within the player base. The Witcher itself has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, and now it looks like Epic Games may be looking to bank on its growing appeal.
During the past few months, fans have been treated to a number of character appearances ranging from Anakin Skywalker to Spider-Man 2099. More recently, Optimus Prime was officially unveiled in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 as part of the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts movie promotion. While the Transformers character will likely be the main draw for many regular players in the current season, the addition of one of the most popular characters from The Witcher could potentially skew player interest away.
According to well-known Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey's tweet (via Shiina), Ciri from The Witcher may be making her way to the battle royale soon. The tweet claims that it might not be long until Ciri appears on the Item Shop, particularly after "a Player Icon with her face was added in today's update, and the icon is part of an encrypted set." It's worth noting that details regarding how the skin can be earned or when it will go online are unknown as Fortnite is yet to make an official announcement. However, the timing does fall in line with Netflix's show as the third season of The Witcher series is set to kick off on June 29.
Of course, this isn't the first time The Witcher collaborated with Fortnite. Back in February, Geralt of Rivia joined Fortnite as part of its Season 4 Chapter 1 Battle Pass. Players keen on getting Geralt were assigned five quests where each quest completion granted a specific cosmetic item tied to the character. As of now, it's unclear what the specifics around Ciri will be, but her character inclusion will most likely stipulate similar requirements as well.
While Fortnite is yet to confirm Ciri's arrival, it won't be the only IP that's reportedly collaborating with the battle royale. Recently, Nike unveiled a Fortnite collaboration event where players can explore the Airphoria island and get the Air Max 1 '86 Back Bling. In any case, the variety of collaborative cosmetics and gameplay items promises to help Fortnite retain its place as one of the top choices in the live-service format. With Ciri reportedly coming to the battle royale soon, it wouldn't be surprising to see more characters from The Witcher in the coming future.
