There is no real permission issue that is going on here, in reality, it is just that the servers are currently unable to handle the request from the player. This is quite similar to the issues gamers have faced in the past, with one of them the infamous 'Restart Fortnite To Download The Latest Patch' error. Just like that error, there are a few things to try here if players face the permission issue.

How To Fix "You Do Not Have Permission To Play" Error In Fortnite

One of the most straightforward solutions is to simply wait it out a while, since it usually takes some time for the servers to stabilize after a huge update. Generally, after, there is a spike in player numbers that causes an unnecessary load on the servers as well. Things generally start to get significantly better around 10-12 hours after a major update in most cases, although there have been cases where issues have lingered around for even longer.

If fans want to jump into the game anyhow, then there are a few things to try. Firstly, they can try restarting the game, as that seems to do the trick for many players. It is always a good idea to do a full restart, so simply jumping back to the home screen on PlayStation and Xbox isn't enough.

Instead, gamers should completely quit the application to ensure a proper restart takes place. While they are it, it is crucial to make sure that the game is updated as well, and players can manually force an update check on their console to ensure they are on the latest patch.

If this doesn't work, then changing your network connection could solve the issues as well. Simple alternatives like using a mobile hotspot or restarting your modem are something that might work at times, although the previously mentioned methods are much more reliable and likely to work.
