Now every year, Fortnite fans expect something bigger and better, especially when it comes to new skins. Original skins with a horror twist and licensed characters appear in the Item Shop with each new Fortnitemares update. With so many horror franchises and spooky themes to draw inspiration from, a fan's wishlist for new Fortnitemares skins keeps growing.

10 Buffy Summers

A Highschooler Turned Iconic Vampire Slayer

• Featured in: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a TV show that mixes horror and humor in a way that fits perfectly with Fortnitemares. Both Buffy and Fortnitemares blend action and monster battles with an irreverent vibe. Buffy The Vampire Slayer has a long cast of characters to choose from when looking for cosmetic ideas but it is best to start with The Chosen One: Buffy Summers.

She is strong and athletic and would prove to be very popular if she appeared in the Fortnite Item Shop. The vampire Spike would be the next best choice for players as his bad-boy demeanor would fit well in the Fortnitemares event.

9 Jason Voorhees

The Brutal and Haunting Killer of Crystal Lake

Jason Voorhees is the cursed killer of Camp Crystal Lake who stalks and murders teens in the classic Friday The 13th movie franchise. Fortnite fans have been begging Epic Games to add Jason to the game for years, but to no avail. The imposing and supernatural figure of Jason, in that recognizable hockey mask, would make such a creepy addition to the Fortnitemares line-up.

The horror icon would certainly be an intimidating and creepy character in the game. It would be easy to see him slashing his way through Cube Monsters! Fortnite already has Michael Myers and Leatherface from other horror franchises, so Jason is surely next on the list.

8 Mulder and Scully

The Duo of FBI Agents That Investigate the Horrors of the Paranormal

• Featured in: The X-Files (1993-2018)

The spooky duo from the long-running TV show, The X-Files, could prove to be popular Fortnite skins, especially during Fortnitemares. The X-Files centers on the supernatural, deep conspiracies, and strange happenings, much like the Fortnite universe. FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully should come as a pair of skins in a bundle so players can switch between them whenever they like.

Fortnitemares is home to otherworldly creatures so Carrie should feel right at home among the ghosts and ghouls. If she does start to feel bullied when facing sweaty squads or hordes of Cube Monsters, she can always fight back with her telekinetic powers. Her sweet but scary vibe would fit in well in the Fortnite universe even after Fortnitemares has ended.

6 Pyramid Head

The Immortal Monster Who Roams Silent Hill

Pyramid Head from Silent Hill would make any Fortnite player run for safety thanks to his blood-stained apron and unwieldy knife. The voiceless and deadly monster is an antagonist in both Silent Hill and Dead By Daylight, so bringing him to Fortnite could stir up a lot of interest, particularly during the Fortnitemares event .

Pyramid Head is scary and intimidating, which could make a very popular choice of character, especially in solo Battle Royale mode. Pyramid Head certainly wouldn't look out of place in a horde rush as players attempt to take out swathes of Cube Monsters, and now is the perfect chance considering the Bloober remake of Silent Hill 2.

5 Sanderson Sisters

Back From The Dead To Create Magic And Mayhem

The Sanderson Sisters - Winifred, Mary, and Sarah - made a return to the big screen after a 29-year absence with the anticipated Hocus Pocus 2 in 2022. Since they now have a brand-new audience, all three would make fun Fortnite skins. The movies featuring the three witches are a Halloween staple, and many families watch them every year.

This popularity, particularly around October, means the three spooky witches could be very popular as skins in Fortnitemares. Having the Sanderson Sisters flying into the Fortnite map would be quite an amazing sight.

4 Pearl

The Obsessive Woman On The Brink Of Insanity

Modern horror icon Pearl could make a unique and creepy skin in Fortnite, particularly if she had that unsettling smile from the end credits on her face the entire time. It would be especially apt if the sweatiest Fortnite players used the skin of this obsessive and sinister character. Being tracked down by a crazed, smiling woman in overalls would be pretty frightening.

Fortnitemares is all about the creepy and the kooky, so, of course, this axe-wielding maniac would fit in fine. If Pearl entered the world of Fortnite during the Fortnitemares event, she would easily take on hordes of monsters with her axe and pitchfork.

3 Betelgeuse

A Fun-Loving And Malicious Demon From Beetlejuice

• Featured in: Beetlejuice (1988) and Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice (2024)

Fortnite: Save the World has a Beetlejuice-inspired skin (Beetlejess), but nothing would compare to the real thing. Both Fortnite and Beetlejuice are full of action and comedic moments so to see the two worlds collide would be perfect. The character of Betelgeuse seems like such an obvious choice for Fortnitemares, thanks to his long-standing status as a spooky movie icon.

If Fortnite ever adds the snarky demon, players should expect to see other characters too such as Lydia Deets and Bob The Shrunken Head. The endless possible emotes Fortnite could introduce, such as the Banana Boat Day-O scene, would also add to the fun!

2 Freddy Fazbear

An Animatronic Nightmare

• Featured in: Five Nights At Freddy's franchise (2014 - present day)

Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights At Freddy's is another skin the community has been asking about for years now. The horror fiction franchise is highly popular and would be a great crossover for Fortnite, especially during Fortnitemares. Freddy and his friends would make for a very creepy squad to come across!

Undoubtedly, rumors will keep circulating about the addition of Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Springtrap until the crossover is finally confirmed. The strange and creepy animatronic animals hold a special place in many young gamers' hearts, so the addition of them to Fortnitemares makes a lot of sense.

1 Clicker

A Horrifying Fungal-Human Hybrid

• Featured in: The Last Of Us (2013), The Last of Us Part 2 (2020)

Clickers from The Last Of Us are grotesque former humans overtaken by the fungus and would make perfectly hideous skins in Fortnitemares. Fortnite could also put its own spin on the cosmetics by giving them Cube Monster effects, with purple skin and glowing effects. If adding Clickers is a scary step too far for the PEGI 12 game, then Ellie and Joel would also make a fine pair of skins in Fortnite.

They just wouldn't be as fun to look at. Fortnitemares is an event fraught with dangerous monsters, so the hideous Clicker would just add to the already horrifying scene. The fungus-zombie creatures were once human so it is also possible to add the cordyceps detailing to original skins like Jones, Spitfire, or Ramirez.
